Let’s see...

Democrat Senators (and prospectives)under cloud of suspicion regarding their ‘election’ or appointment

Lautenberg - New Jersey
That widow from Missouri - not sure she is still there...
Burris
Caroline Kennedy
Al Franken

The Democratic Party is a borderline criminal enterprise...

They have totally mucked up our election process for their gain - to hell with America and free, fair elections...

Power at all costs...

AlGore tried to steal the 2000 Presidential election
John Kerry tried in 2004
Al Franken is in the process of stealing an election.

Wasnt there one in Washington State a few years back??

The consent of the governed is being sorely tried by all of this...

Many posters are quite right that the image of the white Sergeant at Arms preventing Burris from entering will conjure up memories of Bull Connor.
Will there also be police dogs ?
Maybe Ted Kennedy can lend Sunny and Splash for the beat down.

Too bad Blago did not appoint himself. That would have been much more interesting.

No, that would have been easily handled. “Buzz off, Blago.” Plus he would have had to resign as Illinois governor to take the Senate seat, so he would be left without a(n) office/paycheck.

Instead we have a race war brewing in the bosom of the Demonrat Party. Such a shame.(Snicker.)

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY?

I'm calling you the next time I need a lawyer. (Say, aren't most senators lawyers?)

There is no legal way the Democrats can stop Burris from taking his seat. They can only delay it with various procedural steps, all of which will be overruled by the courts. The Illinois Secretary of State is not empowered to block the governor’s appointment (that would make him superior to the governor.) His job is to “certify”, not approve, that is , to make sure the right steps were taken and that the governor acted within his authority. That has all been done appropriately, so his failure would put him in dereliction of his duties of office.

Reid’s use of the Constitutional rule as to the Senate being sole judge of the election and qualification of its members is superceded by other Constitutional provisions providing for the rights of citizens to have representation in the Senate.

Burris will win, if he just hangs in there. They all know it and are trying to get the MSM to force Burris out. When that fails, expect them to offer a bribe to Burris.

You heard it here first.

The U.S. Senate's sergeant at arms may disagree.

Nope, that would have been the easiest thing for the Senate to deny. In Blago's case, they'd already have major cause to toss him out for ethics reasons. And they'd have no dilemma if they did the same to any white man.

Burris, by being an empty suit that even the liberals don't like for his prior support of the death penalty, is the ultimate race card to play on the Rats in the Senate who have foisted affirmative action on the rest of this country!

And the RATS are stealing another election in MN. There is no end to RAT corruption and the idiot voters of America keep sending more and more of them to offices. We’re doomed!!

How much you want to bet he is having the mausoleum engraved as we speak?

I'll take that bet, the words "Third African-American Senator from Illinois" looks kinda lame next to all those 'firsts'!

He can stand in the doorway all he wants. He will be ordered to step aside by the courts.

He is no different than Orval Faubus or George Wallace standing in their school doors. He will be turned aside and Burris will take his seat eventually.

For reid and the Democrats, the decision is between dropping their threat and letting him in, or face a Bull Connor/George Wallace embarrassment of blocking a black man from his rightful place. I don’t think that Reid has the guts to go there, especially knowing that Burris will eventually end up in the Senate anyway.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY?

It doesn't even have to get that far! Imagine what the Rats would do if Bush gave Blago a pardon on the way out! Sort of a slap in the face to Fitzgerald for screwing with Scooter, too!

You might want to re-think that, “Only African-American Senator of the 111th Congress” is the type of crap this dipstick lives for.

The dishonorable Rep. Cynthia McKinney was stopped because security couldn't remember her face. There was no court.

Burris may be blocked by RATS - just because the have ultimate power. The courts will work it out - way later...

Thanks for posting. The socialists/criminals have accelerated our descent. A very sad sight for the greatest nation in the history of civilization.

He’s 71, and there is still a lot of space for “accomplishments” on that mausoleum. He needs to get as many on there as soon as possible or it’s going to look silly and he knows it. He may try to put a few lines up there for just this appointment. Let’s help him out:

“First African-American Appointed to a Senate Seat by an Indicted Governor.”

“First African-American Appointed to a Senate Seat to Replace an Incoming President.”

“First African-American Appointed to a Senate Seat to Replace an African-American Senator.”

Heck, he’s gonna need a bigger piece of granite!
