Cornyn promises filibuster on Franken

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) threatened Friday to filibuster any attempt to seat Democratic Minnesota Senate candidate Al Franken next week.

The newly minted National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) chairman said he had not whipped votes in the GOP caucus, but added that he could not imagine any members defecting and seating Franken without a certificate of election.

Franken will not have that certificate as long as the election is challenged in the courts — a likely scenario, with Sen. Norm Coleman’s (R-Minn.) legal team already attacking the credibility of the recount process.

Why filibuster? Franken is a perfect fit in the 'exclusive' club known as the 'Senate.'

With a few more reprobates like this un-funny communist the revolution isn't far away.

The two gentleladies from Maine, and Arlen Specter. Anyone who believes the Dims do not have a filibuster proof majority is dreaming.

I expect that problem to go away as soon as he is seated. And make no mistake, he will be seated.

Democrat Presidents are adept at using the IRS for political purposes. Under BC IRS audits of conservative non profits was scary. Something 21 right wing think tanks vs 1 left.

Oh, and you had better be prepared for the full court press by the IRS to get political opposition once BO is [illegally] inaugurated.

Don’t you LOVE how they intend to seat the WHITE Franken without a letter certificate of election, but refusing a BLACK Burris for the EXACT SAME REASON.

And throw in the acceptance of the WHITE Caroline Kennedy.

Oh man oh man.

This makes me half wonder whether Democrats might “exercise the nuclear option” and eliminate the need for a supermajority on cloture votes, on the pretext that Republicans are blocking “the will of the voters,” if litigation long continues. Well, at least the onus for such a power grab would be on the Rats, even if Republicans gave them the idea several years back. It would certainly guarantee the Rats’ ability to ram through a second Nude Eel.

Thank you, Senator Cornyn!

There are too few good men like Cornyn in the U.S. Senate, and too many of Franken’s caliber.
