If they do not do anything militarily while their worst enemy whips their little brother, then Iran is going to lose a lot of credibility in the region. It should certainly give Syria pause about what kind of help they can or cannot expect from Iran should they decide to goad Israel one too many times.

force Israel to immediately stop the massacres against the Palestinian people... I've heard that the number of civilians killed by collateral damage is very small, but no one seems to be reporting this. Anyone have a suggestion where to look for information about this?

Which is a lie. The people of Gaza are in danger because they did not destroy Hamas and allowed the terrorist to fire rockets at Israel for the past 8 years and also allow the terrorist to use them as shields.
