Rocket slams into Ashdod kindergarten
Jerusalem Post ^ | 1/6/9 | YAAKOV LAPPIN

Posted on 01/05/2009 9:55:08 PM PST by SmithL

A Grad rocket struck an empty kindergarten in Ashdod on Monday, sending several people into shock and causing heavy damage to buildings in the area.

The facility was empty due to a Home Front Command directive to keep schools and kindergartens closed.

Local residents had complied with safety instructions, entering bomb shelters and safe rooms after hearing the warning siren.

The epicenter of the day's rocket attacks was Ashkelon, where five Grads damaged structures and sent people into shock. Another four landed later, causing no damage.

By Monday evening, the day's total stood at 37 rockets fired at the South. One struck Beersheba, two hit Kiryat Malachi, seven fell in Netivot and seven landed in Ofakim.

A rocket also fell east of Ashdod in the Hevel Yavne Regional Council, and another landed in the western Negev, injuring two.

Police sappers had recovered the remains of 11 rockets by evening.

Since Operation Cast Lead was launched last week, 300 rockets have been fired at southern Israel. Ashkelon was hit by 80, with around half falling in built-up areas.

Four Israelis have been killed, 10 moderately to seriously wounded, and 29 slightly wounded. Another 144 have been treated for shock.

Anyone notice the difference here? The Israelis go to great lengths to keep their citizens, especially children, safe (closing schools, etc.) while the Palestinians place their rocket launchers near schools, hospitals and apartment buildings, and then revel in the civilian casualties for propaganda purposes.

While toddlers are taught in Palestinian kindergartens that killing Jews is their primary purpose in life. No outrage among the supposedly civilized members of the United Nations about that.

Somehow the MSM will find a way to blame Israel for this.

Hey NYT, look at your stock value lately???

Sulzberger Jr. has placed his twisted ideology way above the bottom line for some time now. He's running that rag into the ground with a dopey smile on his face.

Thanks for posting the photo of Grad-Katyusha 122mm Rocket.

No other nation would have put up what Israel has, relating to daily deadly multiple rocket attacks on civilian zones. Iranian backed Hamas terrorists must be wiped out.

“Hamas has been a determined foe not only of Israel, but of Arab-Israeli peace. Israel can’t end the occupation of Gaza — it already did. Approximately 6,000 missiles and mortars have fallen on southern Israel since then.”

All Israel should rise up and rid the area of this palesitic infestation. Hamas is like excrement. It’s only benefit would be derived from its removal..

Olmert: We do not aim to topple Hamas -- ynet news: to French PM

Until the Israelis stop electing union negotiators / former liberal mayors as Prime Ministers and their leftist parties, Hamas will be around constantly. The problem is they have their own leftists who are as bad as our leftists. They never seem to get the point that compromise and half measures with a murder who wants to kill you + negotiations with such, do not work.

We do not get it either, it is as if 9/11 did not happen, nor will happen again --- which it will.

The real problem with these idiots is how many real victims have to be slaughtered until they get the point. I fear the problem is a mental disorder which is incurable.

Bibi or Livni should put an end to that.

Livni, ah no, she and Olmert have too much of a history of compromise.

I don’t think the rockets have the range but wouldn’t it be funny if one landed on the temple mount and did some major damage to the mosque there?

Just chuckling at the thought.

That they have any subscribers or advertisers at all proves that there are plenty of blissfully - or willfully - ignorant people out there.

While the Muslims scream “humanitariam crisis” they continue to shoot rockets at civilians in Israel. Of course, the Hamas say Israel has no right to exist so they do not care.
