The Federal Court of Canada has awarded $12,000 in damages to an inmate who received minor injuries when he was stabbed in the buttocks with a plastic weapon after a dispute over telephone use at an Ontario prison.
Barry Carr, 38, said he suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after the 2005 attack by an unidentified prisoner at Millhaven Institution in Bath, following an argument over the use of one of the five phones that are located next to the recreation area in the prison's assessment unit. Carr received two stitches and there were superficial abrasions to his arms.
All prisoners in Ontario who are sentenced to a penitentiary term are first sent to Millhaven for officials to decide whether they should be held in a maximum, medium or minimum-security institution.
Carr was serving a three-year term for robbery-related offences when he was attacked.

I would imagine there are worse things he could have got stabbed in the butt with in a prison. Seems like he was pretty lucky.
They paid him $12K to get stabbed in the butt?
2 stitches? Well, I’m torn here. That is a worse injury than all 3 of Kerry’s.
Ripped him a new a-hole.
Hard to imagine the stupidity behind the thought process that awarded him any money at all ... if it were up to me, I’d have let him keep the plastic knife as a souvenir.
