Celeb donations help Obama inaugural committee raise $27M

Despite the economic hard times, money keeps pouring in for President-elect Barack Obama's inaugural festivities.

The inaugural committee has raised at least $27 million, donor information on its Web site Tuesday showed. Most of that has come in over the past three weeks.

If fundraising continues at that pace, Obama's inaugural committee will have no problem reaching or exceeding the roughly $40 million raised for each of President George W. Bush's two inaugural celebrations.

More than 2,000 donors are helping to finance Obama's Jan. 20 swearing-in festivities. At least 378 gave the maximum $50,000.

Top donors include financier and major Democratic donor George Soros, actors Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson, Hollywood producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, directors Ron Howard, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg and actor, singer and director Barbra Streisand.

The inaugural committee is releasing the names of those who give $200 or more. It is refusing money from labor unions, corporations, political action committees, foreigners and Washington lobbyists.

The committee isn't turning away contributions from those whose enterprises lobby in Washington, however.

And of course no bleeting by the media and married punditry about how crass it is to have festivities during wartime, let alone during an economic downturn/crisis.

Democrats...hypocrisy is thy name.

It shows what little class these people really have. All they ever talk about is the money.

Obama the big moneymaker only has $27M so far? Bush already had $40M+ by late December for his second inauguration. And they let soldiers dance for free.

I don’t know how to post pictures, but here’s one of Soros gettin a little booty:

http://wallstfolly.typepad.com/wallstfolly/2009/01/george-soros-they-must-be-his-neices.html

“Yesterday’s Page Six pictured billionaire George Soros “making like an octopus” at a party in St. Barts on Paul Allen’s yacht, Octopus, with 2 young unnamed brunette babes. (We’ll speculate they’re his ‘nieces’) The online version didn’t show the picture, but here it is from our newspaper”

And yet the GOP is the party of the rich.

Except for Steven Spielberg's big loss from Madoff's Ponzi Scheme, the Dims had a good run-up of cash during the eight years of the Bush Administration.

Ironic.

And Barry, the People’s President, has just announced that he will forego a showy Inauguration bash and donate the funds to the needy! He really IS different from the other politicians!

Despite the economic hard times, money keeps pouring in for President-elect Barack Obama’s inaugural festivities.
The inaugural committee has raised at least $27 million, donor information on its Web site Tuesday showed.

Know some children that went without a Christmas gift this year? Seems the liberal/socialist of this Country do not.
Know some family that the wage earners are currently unemployed? Seems the liberal/socialist of this Country do not..
Know some family that is on hard times because dad or mom is defending America and Americans in a war zone? Seems that the liberals/socialist of this Country do not.
I mean if you have 27 million plus dollars to throw a party when your fellow countrymen and women are floundering in a recession and economic meltdowm then you must not either see that or know any of the people or care about it..
So while YOU worry how to pay for your childs school lunch, or if your spouse will still be employed next week, the people that you elected to run your Government will be partying and dancing and drinking and eating and having a grand old time. All at your expense..............

And that’s because there may not even be an inauguration bash. I’m sure the Soros’ and Simons and all the other big money donors would approve of their cash going to the needy. Especially if the needy is 0 for his legal defence fund.
