Jesika Kelsey was found by her mother on Jan. 1, stabbed to death in the bedroom she shared with Steven in a Highland Township mobile home. The two lived there with their mother and stepfather.
At Steven’s arraignment, Detective Lt. James A’Hearn of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit testified that Steven told them, “I got a knife and I killed her.”
A’Hearn said Jesika was stabbed once in the neck and once in the eye.
“Steven further stated that Jesika was in pain after the initial assault so he attempted to make a direct thrust into her brain by stabbing her in her right eye,” A’Hearn said.
He also said Steven told investigators he attempted to have sex with his sister as she was dying.
