In WWII, my father was a medic and he had soldier’s blood in his mouth and in his own small wounds for days at a time. This is a no go.

If having to serve with a gay person is enough to make them abandon the defense of their nation, the military is better off without them. Never served huh?

Your example is unrealistic. The issue is a bigger one that a military one. It’s a societal issue that’s larger than the military. It affects the military, but it affects the whole country.
And I repeat, there is a huge difference between working a few hours with someone and having to live with them 24/7, and THEN having your employer endorse what they do that most of you object to, and forcing you to accept it. That is brainwashing and coercion under the guise of military authority.
You wouldn’t put up with government coming into your home and doing the same thing to you. How would you like govt to come into your home and tell you Islam is awesome and you have to accept it because the government is going to be endorsing it as just as good as the religion you practice? (like they are doing over in Britain and Europe)

Does anyone know what percent of military personnel read the Military Times? The article didn’t say what percent of readers responded either.
Who knows if this is a meaningful sample of the military?

Well said Secret Agent Man.
I’m in law enforcement and one of the best partners I have, for all the world I assume she’s a homosexual. But she’s not an open homosexual.
It’s one thing to talk about your “friends” and not be married or have any children into middle age. I can connect the dots, and I’m fine with that. I genuinely like this person I work with.
It’s another thing altogether to spend 24/7 with an open homosexual who’s now protected from any censure if he discusses openly his “life style”.
Personally, I don’t want to know what my coworkers, partners, etc. do in the privacy of their own bedrooms. That goes for both homosexuals and heterosexuals.
In a 24/7 situation, I don’t want to serve with homosexuals. If they’re willing to keep it to themselves, as decency and decorum would dictate, then I at least don’t have to know about it.

"The conservative movement, to which I subscribe, has as one of its basic tenets the belief that government should stay out of people's private lives. Government governs best when it governs least - and stays out of the impossible task of legislating morality. But legislating someone's version of morality is exactly what we do by perpetuating discrimination against gays."

And some people think that the Democrats want to force homos into the military for some altruistic reason...
Here's your reason. They want the military to be just another zone where good conservative people are forbidden.
When that happens, we'd better pray we had the foresight to start setting up citizen militias all over the place.

Just the thought of it should have the muzzies running for their lives BEFORE confronting outfits with catchy nicknames like the Pink Panthers, the Swishing Slashers, the Gay Blades, the Twisted Tankers and, of course, the obvious choice, the Rump Rangers.
Given such a scenario, I'd find myself fighting along side the Muslims, frankly.

It’s also why they want the draft.
The draft is a triple header win for them.
It makes people serve against their will (leftists LOVE slavery).
It reduces the effectiveness of the military, reducing America’s power.
It reduces America’s will to use the military, reducing America’s power.

Not to worry. The draft along with tolerance training in Basic will take care of this problem. /s/

You’ve articulated the single best argument against homosexuals in the military.
The danger of exposure to contaminated blood far out weights any other consideration.

Joining the armed forces is a civil right or some sort of entitlement? What’s next? The BBW Brigade?
Discrimination practiced by private citizens used to be called “free association” and was supposedly protected by the US constitution.

...and President Obama is prepared to sign her legislation. Hopefully, he has no idea what that will do, if he does sign it; because if he does know what it will do, we've all got problems — not just those in service.

I wonder how leftists would feel about forcing women to room, shower, etc,
in front of people that find them sexually attractive...
