You are full of it. Most (not all) of our military comes from conservative areas of the South and Midwest and a repeal of the Gay Ban would kill recruitment and be another cause and effect (out of many other reasons)on our long road to self-destuction or Civil War II.
I've heard people say this, but I haven't actually seen any evidence that this is where we draw the majority of servicemen from. Seeing as a decent percentage of our military is black and hispanic, that's a pretty good chunk of servicemen who come from Democratic voting areas.
