McCain to launch new PAC [to "help define the future of the GOP"]

WASHINGTON (CNN)—Arizona Senator John McCain is adopting a major 2008 campaign slogan for a new political action committee designed to support not only his own planned re-election run in two years, but help him put his stamp on the rebuilding of the Republican Party.

The formation of the “Country First” PAC is to be announced Wednesday, two sources familiar with the plans tell CNN.

One of the sources called it the “first official step” of the GOP Senator’s re-election campaign. McCain made it clear not long after losing the presidential election that he intended to seek re-election to the Senate in 2010.

The second source said that in addition to supporting his own political ambitions, “Country First” would be a financial vehicle to help McCain “help define the future of the GOP by recruiting candidates and driving the agenda.”

rabscuttle385, you are far too kind.

Unfortunately, the things I really want to say about McQueeg would get me banned from FR. ;)

Now, I’ll already complained once today about all the bad satire that’s proliferated around here lately. And now someone has posted another bad satire. John McCain is going to help define the future of the Republican party?

I know that’s nonsense, just another terrible, not at all funny satire.

Thank you for your past service but it would be nice if you would just go away Senator McCain or at a minimum, do not reach too far across the aisle. There is way too much at stake and your past sacrifice and those of our armed forces will be for nothing if the rats get their supporters to do what they want them to do. Please...

He might garner some support from MSN types as they try to portray themselves as balanced and in touch with America. Some fools will fall for this new con game.

I’d like to hear Sarah’s take on this.

I call it, “Being placed in time out”.
Sort of like being sent to the penalty box in hockey. You really meant to say what ya did, but ya gotta go and act contrite. Some referee, always some referee around.

:=)

I'm telling John McCain and other Dem-lites that they are sabotaging Conservatism from the inside and are thus causing great harm to the country.

JOIN ME in sending this message to him and in demanding that Republicans start defending Conservatism and upholding the Constitution:

Sign the REAGAN CONSERVATIVE PETITION

I am not convinced he won’t try to run again in 2012. The man is mad.

I just getting ready to post the same thing. I'm not counting him out. His ego knows no limits.

Part of the reason the GOP got its ass handed to it is because it went all mushy moderate like McCain. I hope his PAC doesn’t go anywhere or conservatism won’t have a voice again for another 40 years.

"Freepers, this is being reported by CNN. I don't believe that McCain is planning to run again, no matter what “sources” say. CNN made this part up to make the Republicans look weak and to irritate conservatives. Let's not play into their hands. "

For once CNN is telling the truth. Might want to take a peek at this ongoing thread.

McCain launches new grassroots organization, "Putting Country First"

All I have to add is why would this washed up RINO think we would believe anything he says now. He would do better to just join the Dems and be done with it.
