How is what Israel is doing different from the American firebombing of Tokyo?
Israel goes to lengths to to avoid non-combatants and Gaza isn't quite all ruble and ash.
It is considerably different.
Israel's bombing is precision targeting of rocket sites and Hamas sites.
Civilians are being warned to evacuate prior to the attacks.
American Firebombing was indiscriminate and intended to obliterate broad swathes of a city with a view to creating huge loss of life (100,000 died) and encourage the subsequent surrender by the government.
There is no comparison, the Israeli action is vastly more "humanitarian" in it's execution, but it is a different tactic for a different situation. One is to destroy the capabilities of relatively small but annoying, terror regime, the other was to break the will of a nation and it's legitimate government that were engaged in all out war.
Different horses for different courses.
Sounds trollish to me....
These are not indiscriminate attacks designed to maximize civilian casualties, like firebombing. They are the exact opposite.
Israel doesn't have any B-17's.
