The DOJ is suing the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense and three of its members over what authorities allege was Election Day voter intimidation in Philadelphia.
Filed yesterday in federal court in Philly, the lawsuit alleges that two men intimidated voters Nov. 4 by standing outside a polling place at 1221 Fairmount Ave. wearing party uniforms.
The lawsuit seeks a court order barring party members from being deployed to, or displaying weapons at, polling place entrances.
Panther Party chair Malik Zulu Shabazz told Fox News that the men were there to provide security because people wearing Nazi insignia had been intimidating voters earlier in the day.
On Election Day, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter made a statement about the alleged incident saying no one was denied the right to vote.

Of course, the DOJ wasn’t interested when the NBPP went to Durham and threatened a defendant in the Duke lacrosse case INSIDE THE COURTROOM...
(I guess they didn’t consider that intimidating enough...)
Any pictures of these “people wearing nazi insignia”? I thought not...
“Displaying weapons”? He was brandishing a Shotgun! Then when the FOX reporter questioned him about it, he demanded to know by what authority was the Press was there.
Who knew it took a court order to keep people from displaying weapons in Philadelphia? And I always heard “Vermont carry” was the best.
How's the investigation of the terrorist murderers of policemen going?
Who's protecting Mr. and Mrs. Ayers -- the oft-mentioned suspects in those murders?
Brandishing a SHOTGUN??? Did you watch the video? Or, are you talking about a separate incident. The man in question in this case was brandishing a Billy Club - NOT A GUN. Regardless, it’s a violation of the law, but there is a BIG difference between openly carrying a shotgun (esp. in Philly) vs. walking around with a nightstick.
Suing them? How about throwing their @sses in jail?
Yes, this is always a tactic of the Left, making usually false claims of voter intimidation in order to justify their own efforts to intimidate voters or steal elections. The GOP simply has to factor into their future campaigns the idea that Dems will try to steal elections, and they must plan accordingly. There really is no excuse for not being prepared for this stuff anymore, since the Left has increased their questionable electoral activity in the past 8-10 years.
Suing is better. It’s what the Left does to its enemies and bankrupts them. Good strategy.
