When Obama made his little speech to his conributor/cronies in San Francisco, and vowed to bankrupt the coal industry, his message made the rounds of American business pretty darned quick.
That's why Obama gets full credit for the Obama Depression.

Even as much as I’ve come to dislike President Bush, my feelings aren’t so strong that I’ve forgotten that Congress holds the purse strings.

Barney Frank and Chris Dodd engineered the collapse of Fannie and Freddie. This kicked off the cascade of failures that resulted in today’s situation and not accidentally, just before the election. To blame Bush is just blind.

Bush and McCain's responsibility is mainly in that they didn't bypass the enemedia and make George Soros, Freddie, Fannie and Oba Mao's ties to Wall Street key campaign issues.
Granted, it was a tough sell given that they had some of their own ties to this motley crew, but when you are in possession of the ball, 4th down, behind two points and on the 50 yard line with 30 seconds left, a field goal attempt makes a hell of a lot more sense than running out the damn clock and turning the ball over.
