What the hell is a "cultural trail bike path"? Who knows? But you can be sure that numerous city officials will be present to cut the ribbon to open the path, getting a nice photo op in the local rag.
This was predicted. The money won't be used for filling potholes and shoring up bridges, as is being touted. No glory standing beside a pothole for a photo op.

Truth be told, I'd love to have a bike path over here on the West side, but all the political clout in this city is on the North side. Oddly, there's one of the nicest bike trails on the planet runs from Nobelsville (about 10 miles north of Indianapolis) to the center of the city. It's built on the old Monon railroad right-of-way. The same type of abandoned rail line runs from Crawfordsville to the central city, but it's on the west side and is politically neutered. I just wonder where the mayor will spend those $50 million.
