Federal minimum wage is now at $6.55/hour. Many states have already increased their minimum wages to more than that. The new federal rate will take effect in July this year and will be $7.25/hour. That certainly isn't going to help anyone.

I remember just 12 years ago how cool it was that my part-time, internship job was paying me $7.50/hour (worked for a local CPA while in college). I thought I was livin' large.

Egads. It was $2.35/hr. when I started working. I’m getting old!
