All that our leaders have to do to solve the problem of terrorism is change human nature in billions of people from hundreds of cultures. Just convince everybody to practice virtue, rein in temptation and deny all vice. Nothing to it.

Anyone who expects our leaders to persuade others to virtue and goodness when they almost universally refuse to make the attempt for themselves is delusional.

Yes, and we are to beggar ourselves to prop up systems that have proven to be irresponsible. Much of the current problem has indirectly been caused because aid from western cultures, given for altruistic reasons, has propped up the survival of large populations that were not sustainable by the technology their culture supported.
