Appreciate the reply.

Trumandogz assertion is that travel to Pakistan was no problem at that time.

I would like to see lawful proof of that.

Visa applications are submitted to State Dept but approved by the country that one wants to travel to. State only warns of risk or in the case of war or a breakdown in diplomatic relations, denies travel.

Pakistan was a 'warning' area for years....maybe a decade. Ali Bhutto was convicted and sentenced to death in '73 or 74, his successor, Haq, died in a suspicious plane crash along with his general staff, so the region was in political turmoil. Not your ideal travel destination for tourists, exchange students or businessmen.

Did I mention that Benezir Bhutto, Ali's daughter, bought the farm there recently too?
