I’m confused. If this is a route and “entire batallions” being wiped out and they estimate 300 dead, this is a disconnect.
Entire batallions would be much more than 300.
Battalions are generally 500-1500 men, which is not consistent with 300-400 dead, unless the figure for seriously injured or captured is much, much higher.
For the Israelis, taking prisoners is a losing proposition, since the Palis will commit kidnappings to try to free them.
