Interesting, my cockers are not what I would call hyper-active; they kind of go with the flow. Mostly they are just happy to be with us and doing what we are doing at the time.. they love going for rides to the bank or out on the lake in the boat... I think because we are home with them they pace their energy throughout the day. They are great agility dogs... each and every dog is different and has their own unique personality traits, even in the same breed, as you know.

Yes, our friends Standard Poodle is very smart as was the one they had before her. The first was more friendly and outgoing than the current dog...

Why would Oprah complain? She has purebred Cockers and Goldens, she is no one to say someone must adopt from shelter....

You’d have to ask her.

I always wanted a cocker as a kid (Lady and the Tramp you know!). I actually just fell into golden retrievers (was given one who became my husband’s hunting companion) and just fell in love with the breed. The other things about cockers (showing) is all of the coat care. It really is a lot (as I’m sure you know!) if they are in a show coat. I’ve helped groom them, and man, I don’t have the patience to do that all the time!

We keep our cockers in a semi-show cut.. the long ears, fur on their legs, etc., but here in the desert the side feathers are too much. I think Golden’s are beautiful dogs and if we had a large dog would be my choice.

What exactly is a purebred labradoodle? That’s pretty much an oxymoron!

If you want to talk about breeding, it helpd to remember that this is the product of a white mother (who's ancestors owned slaves), and a black muslim father from Africa (who's ancestors helped import slaves to America) and part of his appeal to liberal was that he's an "African American" so electing him will help right this nation's wrongs concerning slavery.

Correction: Obama's mother's family (on most of its branches) started their lives in 17th century America as slaves ~ white slaves ~ and I don't mean mere indentured servants. They were brought here to work for free for indefinite periods for Dutch, Swedish and English landowners. In many cases the excuse was allegation of crimes commited in the old world.

Now, did somebody along the way "own slaves", probably ~ I know of several of them who did ~ in New York in fact.
