Tony will be escaping shortly, (maybe even with Jack's help), after all, it IS the FBI that's holding him. I have a feeling that Tony is working with Jack against the Africans. If you notice, he verbally threatens the kidnapped guy with no physical harm and he prevented the planes collision.
They will find a way to make him a good guy again and may bring his wife back from the dead!

hi melancholy, that’s exactly what I thought — that Tony and Jack are running a sting operation of some sort. Also hoped that darling Michelle would be brought back. Those were just about my two favorite characters.
