NEW YORK-When George W. Bush lifts off in his helicopter on Inauguration Day, leaving Washington to make way for Barack Obama, he may not be the only thing disappearing on the horizon.

To a number of social analysts, historians, bloggers and ordinary Americans, Jan.20 will symbolize the passing of an entire generation: the baby boomer years.

From the generation raised with the decency and common sense lessons of WW II to the generation of video games, online porn and reality TV. We no longer have a chief executive, we now have a "Rock Star" according to the article.

Well, this boomer (born 64') isn't going anywhere and it's nowhere near over.

2010/12!!!

The Boomer era won’t be over until the generation is mostly done collecting their Social Security and Medicare benefits. If you know what I mean.

I too plan to keep on going (Boomer 50’)but it can be argued that it was our collective generation that moved our nation from self reliance and decency to the threshold of socialism and depravity.

“Gen Xers are known to be more cynical, less optimistic,” says social commentator Jonathan Pontell. “Xers don’t write books with the word ‘hope’ in the title.”

.......and us conservative memebers of Gen X know a fraud when we see one.........

It just seems odd to me the that the baby boomer generation only got two presidents in office. I think it’s too early to make that call.

Say goodbye to the ‘Worst Generation’.

If the WWII generation was ‘The Greatest Generation’ which I can agree with, the Boomers are the worst, most self centered generation.

The "baby boom" era is identified as 1946 to 1964. Obama was born in 1961. More evidence that journalists are mathematically incompetent. The "generation" is over when they are dead. The oldest baby boomers are just reaching age 63. They will continue to be a part of the work force for another 20 years.

Most of the crappy, liberal politicians that infest Washington today are over age 63.

The “boomers” were raised by the “greatest generation”....in my opinion, many in the “greatest generation” failed in their responsibilities as parents.

Well, this boomer (born 64')

I never understood how people born in 1964 could be post-war Baby Boomers.

"Gladys, I need some lovin' tonight. I've been away at the WAR!!!!"

"Forget it, Abner. That line stopped working long ago. I have a headache. I have hot flashes. You don't look like Audie Murphy in his prime anymore and it's 1963. The war has been over for 18 years."

Obama represents the choke hold of boomer 60’s and 70’s style red activism on our culture.

I’m a hale and healthy 60, have my retirement papers in the que, and should see 85 without undue effort. I’m going fishing and, since the Kenyan and the ‘Rats are in power, spending my time figuring out how to exploit the System like it was a five dollar crack ‘ho.

In Obama, many see an end to the baby boomer era?

Why? Obama's a boomer, and the next President is likely to be a boober as well. ....and the next.

You prove my point. Some 30 to 40 years later your still whining about your parents did you wrong.
