If Mexico would LEGALIZE guns, people wouldn’t HAVE to smuggle them in! Take away the illegal market - legalize guns!

Let me guess. They want to “stop” gun smuggling into Mexico by “closing the gun show loophole”.

They want to “stop” gun smuggling into Mexico by “closing the gun show loophole”.

This was my immediate reaction. How is this new gun smuggling law written? How does it apply?

Will carrying my personal weapon(s) across state lines become a crime of "gun smuggling" ? I think I need more answers. I definitely have more questions.

"The increasing violence in Mexico is now a U.S. national security issue," Hutchison said.

their internal problem is now ours ??? but the friggin border is'nt a security issue ???

In addition to Bingaman and Hutchison, Arizona Sens. John McCain and Jon Kyl, both Republicans, also signed on to the legislation .

“We also need to arm the Mexican people so they can have
a chance against the looters with their armies.”

I think Hugo Chavez can help there.

If something is illegal, you make it illegaler and illegar until it's illegalest, and then it becomes effective.

You betcha!

And this about sums it up folks.

As another poster said:
“First of all, we need to tone down the hateful rhetoric that has sprung up around the cross-border arms traffic issue. These are not “illegal guns”, they are “undocumented self-defense tools”. The Mexican economy has a very real demand for American guns. American guns are doing jobs Mexican guns won’t do. What Mexico needs is comprehensive gun reform, to bring its laws into balance with its own economic realities.”
