A freezing rain tornado would be awesome! I hope it lands right on Algore’s mansion!

The theoretical conditions that would form one might be occurring right now in the Northeast where an Alberta Clipper, with arctic air pushing it, is colliding with a tropical rain front sliding up the east coast. So you jam some heavy moisture sucked up off the ocean right into a dense arctic air mass. Lucky for us that these Alberta Clippers have been moderate in size. Next winter they could become rather large if solar activity remains low.

It is has been confirmed, a few areas in Northern Minnesota bottomed out at - 40 F this morning (one at -42). That was 20 lower then forecast. So already this first arctic blast is much worse then even predicted. Quite a few places in Minnesota set record lows for the day.

I am in Wisconsin and we’re going to -12 tonight. Even worse the next 2 nights. We’ve already exceeded our average seasonal snowfall, about 45 inches, and we have a long winter ahead. Last year, we got 106 inches. One year, we had a high daytime temp of -25. I never want to see that again!

I never knew of that ice disk phenomenon! I am a bit of a weather geek. My family farm was wiped out by a tornado when I was about 10, so I always pay attention to storms.
No ice disks here, just lots and lots of snow and arctic temps! Freep On!

I have to watch the weather for my business. Ship next day and the next day shippers are really poor at letting you know what the actual status of delays are. They will gladly accept your package even though their main air hub into the region was just closed due to weather conditions. They are slowly getting better, but man, big corporations like that really should have their act together.

Sorry that you lost your farm.

This appears to be the least of their problems.

The symbol p is called pi and is approximately equal to 22/7 or 3.141592654 , most high school teachers use it to two decimal places as 3.14

p is the ratio between the circumference and the diameter of a circle ..i.e
p = (circumference / diameter ).
Interestingly the value of p is the same for any circle ...

Area of circle = p x ( radius x radius ) = p radius2

if the Radius = R
then
Area of circle = pR2 = p x R x R

For fun, here is a video that kinda supports the nutty ice tornado theory.

Hey, I have to watch the weather for my business too! I have a wholesale greenhouse and being aware of weather and weather changes is vital to my survival.

We’re supposed to hit around -12 tonight (not including wind chill) here in IL, too. The high today is only going to be -2, and I just got through digging out from a snowstorm last night that dumped another 6-8” of snow on top of the 8-10” we already had. We might hit 15 degrees by this weekend if we’re lucky.

Al Gore, you are a lying POS.
