I think you miss the point (although I have noticed there are some guys here at FR who do seem genuinely scared to death of being in the same room with a gay person).

Here are the three main points:
1) This man is almost singularly responsible for splitting the Episcopalian church. He has done great damage to the cause of Christ in the world, and could be considered an enemy of righteousness.

2) This man claims that performing gay sex acts is natural, Godly, and acceptable. By doing so, he is leading millions of men with gay proclivities straight to hell, destroying their relationship with God and preventing them from a proper confession and absolution of their sin. Jesus rightly condemned the Pharasees to hell.

3) This man specifically states that he is going to do this prayer to represent gay people, not to represent God, and is going to avoid christian references because it would offend others. Jesus told us his message would offend people, and avoiding offense is NOT the task of a true man of God.

Tolerate means to put up with, not to give in to. We tolerate sinners, we don’t accept them. We’ve spent too much time over the past 8 years accepting things, which is why a majority of the country opposes things they should support now, and supports things they should oppose.

BTW, there is also a hypocritical aspect here. The left has been screaming about Rick Warren, saying that because Rick believes Homosexuality is a sin, he is “devisive”, and that Obama should not pick a devisive person to represent religion.

But now that this gay bishop has been picked, those on the left are applauding Obama. But this gay bishop is one of the most divisive religious public figures of our time — he broke a major denomination.

Obama could have found a heterosexual bishop who supported gays, if he wanted to be inclusive. Warren in fact WAS an inclusive pick, as he is hardly a conservative preacher. But the media, who has called Warren devisive, won’t say one word about Gene being divisive.

Great post, Charles.

What homosexuals do not understand is that God can be provoked. He can be made angry by our acts.

Looked what he did to the Israelites who challenged Moses in the wilderness. Poof! Gone!
