(CNN) Meghan McCain has drawn headlines for her unfiltered take on the presidential campaign, but theres one topic the outspoken daughter of last years Republican presidential nominee wont touch: her fathers running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
In an interview with the Monday Morning Clacker blog, McCain discussed her love for burlesque queen Dita Von Teese, calling her spectacular everything she does is genius. Her book still sits on my coffee table.
She also said she was inspired by Bikers For McCain and want[s] to go back to Sturgis next year and do bike week right.
But she wouldnt be drawn into any assessment of Arizona Sen. John McCains vice presidential pick. Sarah Palin is the only part of the campaign that I wont comment on publicly, she said.

nuts dont fall far from the tree
Stripping for bikers! I’m down with that!
Earth to Megahn—do you realize the ONLY reason; repeat; the ONLY reason the press is talking to you is to get you to say something bad about Palin, some other conservative or conservatives in general. They don’t care about you. They don’t care about your Dad—didn’t you learn anything when Press Golden Boy McCain became Public Enemy #1 over night and was hated at a level reserved for George Bush? Stop talking or your going to have to change the name of your blog to “The Useful Idiot.”
If Dita Von Teese is so spectacular then why did Marilyn Manson dump her?............and why do I know that?
I remember clearly how highly Meghan spoke of Sarah Palin and her family during the campaign.
What’s this act of “I won’t talk about Sarah Palin” all of a sudden???
Good grief!!
She’d have to say,” thank God my dad chose Governor Palin because without her, he would have lost all 57 states and would have been the most embarrassing candidate the Republican Party ever ran.”
Well, her refusal to talk about it obviously came as *orders* from McCain to not open her mouth about it.
McCain thought he would get a “poster-girl” candidate, as “crumbs from the table” for the conservatives and didn’t expect her values to resonate like they did among the Republicans. That’s what McCain didn’t like, since they are not his values...

So I just wanted to let it be known that I support Bristol and the entire Palin family."
"It's a rough go being the son or daughter of a politician. I have not known Bristol Palin very long, but there is a certain kinship I feel to her as I do other political daughters such as Chelsea Clinton, Jenna and Barbara Bush and Mary Cheney. You can't fully understand it unless you have lived it. So I just wanted to let it be known that I support Bristol and the entire Palin family."
Meghan was probably thrown off her game by the huge crowds Governor Palin always drew, having never seen anything remotely like it when only her father appeared.
Ah, then CNN is taking someone else's interview and interpreting an absence of comment to have special meaning it would appear. She talked about a stripper and bikers, but didn't say anything about Obama...maybe she can't stand him...we can read that into the silence just like CNN.
I think that's it exactly.
I’m going to go with your take. The msm is clearly still on their Palin witch-hunt. The “Palin question” in these interviews is a lose-lose-lose for any Republican. They can either bash Sarah, which will be trumpeted to discredit her, or they can give a reasoned answer that is twisted out of context to discredit Sarah, or they can just say nothing and have the comment twisted around to discredit Sarah.
Or they can decline the interview and have it used to discredit Sarah.
There is a common denominator here...
At the very least, these McCains are rude.
*Ping!*
She might understand that CNN is merely fishing for bad comments about Gov. Palin, because their purpose is to try to destroy her before 0’s next election. There’s also the old rule, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.”; regardless of what her father may have taught her.
I imagine the Senator, however, will be using his remaining time in the Senate to get back at us for supporting his running mate over him.
