Bubba looms large over Hillary's Secretary of State confirmation hearings

WASHINGTON – It's still all about Bubba.

Amid all the laudatory comments about Hillary Clinton at Tuesday morning's Secretary of State confirmation hearings, the only slightly sour note so far has been about Bill Clinton, and the fear that his foreign entanglements might snare Hillary — and U.S. foreign policy.

It fell to GOP Sen. Dick Lugar to deliver the cautionary lines, but Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Sen. John Kerry made sure to note that the whole committee had those worries.

"The work of the Clinton Foundation is a unique complication that will have to be managed with great care and transparency," Lugar warned Clinton before her opening remarks.

"The core of the problem is that foreign governments and entities may perceive the Clinton Foundation as a means to gain favor with the Secretary of State," Lugar said.

"The Clinton Foundation exists as a temptation for any foreign entity or government that believes it could curry favor through a donation," Lugar warned. "It also sets up potential perception problems with any action taken by the Secretary of State in relation to foreign givers or countries."

He said that any time a foreign donor crops up anywhere around a U.S. foreign policy action, related or not, someone will link the two, causing problems for the country.

Lugar said the only way to ensure there would be no problems is for Bill Clinton to "foreswear" any foreign donations.

The ex-President has already given up his donor lists and promised to submit future dealings to an ethics review, so none of this came as a surprise to Hillary Clinton.

Meanwhile, Kerry made an impromptu offer of an internship to former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton, who was seated behind her mother.

Hillary told the Massachusetts Democrat that her only regret about the confirmation hearing was that she couldn't see her daughter's face.

Bill Clinton was once an intern on the committee, Kerry noted, saying that perhaps, for the day, he could use his chairman's prerogative and tap Chelsea as a one-day intern, so she could sit behind

Hitlery remains another TOTALLY UNQUALIFIED person for her assignment. Zero’s cabinet assignments are worse than both the Carter and Clinton regimes. Gross incompetence -— just slobbering Marxist goons.

A sad day for America when this corrupt, lying, washed-up hag will be the face of American diplomacy around the world.

Bubba may loom large on dropping a dime or a Kenyan birth cerificate on Obama this week. Bill has been spreading our billions in tax money, thanks to GW, in Africa for “AIDS.” Bill has connections and friends in Africa Indonesia, China and Hawaii.

Berg or Pidegeon or Orly will need some votes at SCOTUS. Bubba got Breyer and Ginzberg their SCOTUS gigs.

Laws are for the little people.

Secretary Of State Salary Will Be Cut For Clinton

Hillary Rodham Clinton will earn less money if confirmed as secretary of state than her predecessor, Condoleezza Rice.

That’s because Congress has cut her future salary for the Cabinet post by about $4,700 to comply with an obscure clause in the Constitution. Under it, no member of Congress can be appointed to a government job that would provide a pay increase during the lawmaker’s current term.

Rice makes $191,300. Congress Wednesday night rolled back the salary that the next secretary of state will get to $186,600, the salary that was in place when Clinton began her current Senate term in January, 2007.

As a senator, Clinton currently makes $169,300.

Well, breaking the law is in vogue in Washington now — after all, look what we got for a president. And nobody cares. That is the difference between a nation of laws and mob rule.
