It's about time Muslims apologized for their genocide against Christians.

How rare an event is this? 94 years later?

Simply finding the living family members would be a challenge.

Like the dispossessed American Indians? Have we seen that happen? Ever?

He did not find the family members:

"When I found out that the properties that I and my brothers inherited from our father wasn't our own, but properties taken from the murdered Assyrians in 1915 I felt an indescribable feeling of guilt and shame. I've been thinking long and hard before I have come to this decision. I tried to put myself in their position. I have personally apologized to every Assyrian and Armenian I've meet. But this does not get rid of the crime our ancestors committed. Even if I am personally not responsible for what happened in 1915, I felt as I had to do more than just to apologize. Finally, I came to the decision to give back all properties that I inherited from my forefathers to Seyfo Center, who struggles for a confession of the Seyfo genocide in 1915".

This is really quite rare and amazing.

Armenians? Greeks? Not yet.

This particular website refers to the holocaust against the Pontian Greeks. There are others that refer to the rest.

94 years later?

Of course—a difficult challenge because many families were completely wiped out...or survived by becoming Muslims. There are also Crypto Christians in Asia minor aka Turkey.

The main obstacle is the refusal of Muslim Turks to accept responsibility. One way would be to open up their archives to genocide scholars. The Soviets did years ago but the Turks have not.

Yes, it was 94 years ago that the property was taken.

Horrific.

Makes you wonder what the western powers were doing while this was going on. Probably the same thing they are doing now while the Egyptians persecute and kill Copts - nothing.

What a disgrace.

Thaks for the link.

Horrific. Makes you wonder what the western powers were doing while this was going on.

They were waging war against the Ottoman Empire and having a horrific, bloody time with the business.

Dying by the train-load on the Western Front and at Gallipoli.

Tumultuous times- WWI had a bigger influence on our modern world than WWII, in my opinion.

According to the website, the Armenian and Assyrian and Greek exterminations continued well after the end of WW1.

Check it out.

The Ottomans lost. We should have made sure the Turks behaved themselves.
