Germans are an interesting breed. Pretty screwed up, as a society. They are not happy, and project it outwardly, happily aided and encouraged by their own very liberal media.

I sure met a lot of nice Germans, though. Pity they never understood free market capitalism.

That's because total statism and big government, welfare state and socialized healthcare have been integral part of German society since Bismarck. Every German Government (Weimar, Hitler, East and West Germany and now the reunited Germany) since the beginning of the "Reich" has maintained or expanded statism.

For American standards they are a Socialist country... even including their "conservative" parties.

I understand from organizations that have tried to defend the right to home school in Germany (it is illegal there), that much of the body of law related to education is still actually Third Reich stuff.

Israel aggressive? Well, I sure hope so.

Yes home schooling was prohibited by Hitler in 1938. The Allies had it repealed after the war, but the Germans simply reintroduced it in the 1950's again.

Still today home schooling parents are jailed.
