ANALYSIS-Obama inauguration rivals Super Bowl for some brands

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President-elect Barack Obama's message of hope sent his approval ratings soaring to unprecedented levels, so it's no wonder that companies such as Pepsi, Ikea and Saturn want to cash in on Obama's brand power at his Tuesday inauguration.

But the link is also a political risk that may not be worth it.

"If you're associating yourself with the inauguration, you're implicitly endorsing the president-elect, who is a Democrat," said Paul Argenti, a corporate communications professor at Dartmouth University's Tuck School of Business. "The chances of angering the rest of the population are pretty high."

What ever products they advertise they’d be smart to advertise them to liberal moonbats because Conservatives aren’t gonna watch “Mr. $Trillion Dollar Plus Yearly Deficit.”

Just like the mainstream media, these companies have no clue that alienating half or more of their customer base is no way to do business.

To reference the Super Bowl analogy, it’s as if a company used its 30 second spot to heap praise on the AFC champ, thereby ticking off the NFC crowd.

Complete, utter idiocy.

There is no level of barf alert that can attain the level needed to ward of the barfiness of all the Obama Worship that is around.

Everyday another level of absurdity is reached. More duct tape please!

Next thing you know, that sign he always has in front of his lectern to remind everyone that he matters will be a small LCD that scrolls endorsing companies’ advertisements.

Well good, I'm happy for The O.

I won't be watching one minute of it figuring alternate programming of M.A.S.H., the A-Team, Andy Griffin, The Hulk, etc...will keep me relaxed and happy as 'The Messiah' memorizes millions of kool-aided drinkers.

So, people gonna fall out from the parade come Tuesday from the excitement.???

I think Clarence Thomas or maybe even J.C. Watts would, without a doubt, make a better POTUS/CIC.
