Reagan didn’t have any friends in networks and talk radio wasn’t anything like it was later.
It’s doable, tough as hell but doable.

I think the lesson hopefully may sink in.
Do not try to be the media’s friend like McCain did.
Eff ‘em! They are the enemy and you fight them as much as you fight democrats.

Considering the media and Democrat-run Congress are two of the least-trusted institutions in America, a conservative can make a lot of hay by not sucking up to them... and being very public about it.

Sounds a lot like Saracuda to me...

The RNC, GOP, Conservative groups, etc should simply use the media against the media. Start running TV commercials from now until the next election that shows what the Democrats are up to.

For example: A TV commercial that simply points out that the Democratic controlled Congress in fiscal 2008 ran up a $455 billion dollar budget deficit and in fiscal 2009 the Democratic controlled Congress with have run up a budget deficit of over $1 trillion dollars.

Presto! Americans get the truth, the Democrats start squealing and that in turn makes the news cycle. Anytime we can get the Democrats squealing it makes the news.

Hold the Democrats accountable to everything they do by broadcasting it via the boob-tube.

A commercial that should have been running since 2003 is one that explained to Americans that the media and Democrats have lied that only the rich got tax cuts and that the entire federal income taxes were lowered and the earn income tax credit was increased and the child credit was increased, and that when the Democrats expire those tax cuts the low income and middle income will feel it the hardest.

We have to quit allowing the Democrats to get away with their lies. Just a few days ago Barney Franks was on TV saying that they tried to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac but the Republicans stopped them. Aaarrrgghh!!!

It was doable. Do you think if Carter was pres. in 4 days time, the term "malaise" would ever enter the national consciousness? Or the idea of a "misery index"? I think Carter would have high ratings. Just like It will.

I think we need real big demonstrations against leftist bias on TV. That's what's killing us. It would at least scare them into the occasional bit of balance
