Some passengers screamed, others tucked their heads between their knees, and several prayed over and over, “Lord, forgive me for my sins.” But a man named Josh who was sitting in the exit row did exactly what everyone is supposed to but few ever do: He pulled out the safety card and read the instructions on how to open the exit door.

Yes it is the times, but a most comprehensive telling of the events leading off the plane.

Worth the time.

It's a pretty good read. I never personally was involved in an incident during my flying career but have several friends who were - it's amazing that there is always that one person who is obviously in shock and refusing to evacuate without their baggage.

There was a time in my life when I was a very frequent flyer. I can relate to the guy in the story, who made a ritual of counting rows to the nearest exit. After a over decade and hundreds of thousands of miles, you begin to get a little superstitious, like your number is up. I’ve actually been on that flight, numerous times. One of them was the roughest flight I’ve ever experienced. The quiet of the passengers was eerie, you’d think there would be screaming, but no, just lots of pale faces and white knuckles on the armrests. Got to hold hands with a lingerie model, flying back home from a photo shoot though, lol. Still remember her name, some sense of heightened reality due to the circumstances. The overhead bins were flying open. I remember a comical thought, that the old Bugs Bunny cartoon about “air brakes” had the sound effects spot on.

Drama trauma, sure does have many faces.

I liked the account of the lady with seemingly nine lives...

One should be kept aware of her travel and whereabouts as to stay a million miles away from her location!...lol

Ping for some good coverage, even though it is the normally despicable New York Times.

Just don't click on the sidebar article about the captain. They've already dug up more information on the pilot of the plane than they've found in 3 years of researching B. Hussein Obama. They've even spoken to neighbors and old flight school classmates and the story is 24 hours old.

Don't think I've ever seen an interview with any of Barry's old classmates. Don't think I ever will.

Sean Hannity interviewed one of the passengers today (Friday). It was great — a much more upbeat account of what happened than depicted by the NYT article.

I didn’t just click the article about the Captain. I went to all the links and their links, including the videos and slide show.

Yes, I agree: they already have more information on the Captain than they ever *published* about Obama. (I suspect they found a lot about him that they refuse to publish.)

Stewardess: Please don’t panic everyone! Just get in a safe position and keep your head between your knees! (pause) You own knees father! (Priest lifts his head up)

The guy I feel sorry for is the co-pilot. Seems he had a pretty important role in this too...

Thank you for posting the article.

After the quick ‘blurbs’ on the ‘news’, it was refreshing to hear about it from the passengers.
