We’re leaving out the obvious reason why McCain lost: the state of the economy and the panic atmosphere that ensued. Parties in power when the economy goes in the tank have a nearly impossible climb to win the next election.

You can't tell me that, when there was a record turnout from both sides this election, our side stayed home.

The facts are, it was the moderates (like yourself) that gave this election to Obama. (Exit polling clearly showed it was moderate “republican” cross-overs that voted for Obama.)

So take your petty little blame game and stick it in the appropriate place. Conservative patriots were there through thick and thin as usual. We voted for Palin, not McNasty or the other tird-party traitors. (The percentages of votes clearly proves that.)

McCain lost because of how he handled the bailout. He was in trouble before that, but that put the nail in his coffin.

In the 'breaking news' thread about McCain suspending his campaign, I posted that it was an ill-conceived stunt that would be perceived as grandstanding. I got skewered by the loyalists. lol. They sort of quietened when they found that McCain helped reinvigorate the $700 billion bailout by adding $150 billion in pork to it.

McCain said he COPIED BOB DOLE’S CAMPAIGN!!

he used a losing campaign as his model.

Obama was able to out communicate via internet, left wing radicals and out and out voter fraud.

McCain was running a campaign via pony express.

When Palin ignited the conservatives, McCain’s first instinct was to side with democrats against her.

When Joe the Plumber became the voice of the american voter, McCain did not even GET IT enough to use it.

We were NEVER voting for mccain, we were voting for “not obama”.

Palin is what kept mccain from being humiliated. McCain is now mistaking that fact with his own PR.

A lack luster candidate indeed!

And, what he has become is a darn shame. IMHO, he should retire before 2010.

Lesser of two evils is still evil, but it’s still the lesser evil.

Lesser evil, until one gets reelected and then thinks that is a mandate to try to push through allot of crap that most of the people do not want. Then said lesser evil elevates to evil.

“McCain lost because he was on the Republican ticket.
There is no Republican who could have won last November.”

McCain himself could’ve won the election had he suspended his campaign to actually stop what will be known in 20 years as the greatest heist in human history.

Instead he suspended his campaign, sat at his Washington condo, and chatted on the phone. No press conferences, No Firm Stands, and Wrong Side of the Issue. For a week we were told that the world was about to come crashing down (which is a lie), and McCain said and did nothing to refute or educate the public on the issue.

I think we all knew the McCain campaign was a f**k up when they ANNOUNCED they were pulling out of Michigan, and didn’t even bother to tell the VP candidate who was scheduled to be there a couple days later. Thanks Rick. I hope you enjoyed the Politico all male hot-tub party, starring Chuck Todd.

If they want to say that "Rush caused McCain't to lose"...fine. But, if he did it was because Rush is a conservative, and McCain't ISN'T.

Rush never mounted a big push for McCain't because he obviously didn't believe in him; McCain't was, to most Republicans, the only AVAILABLE alternative to obama. He was dragging the rear in the primaries and then no-thanks to the democrat crossover primary voters, was elected/chosen as the Republican nominee.

McCain't never earned his place on the National ticket...he was a hands-down, NON-favorite of the Republicans. The only shining conservative light in his campaign was Sarah Palin.

Then when he pulled that carnie side-show stunt of running back to Washington to "stop the bail out"...and then caved, he RE-Proved his loyalty to the other side all over again. I think we might at least have had a runoff if he hadn't pulled that "suspending the campaign" stunt. What a rube.

The only thing the McCain't campaign is pissed about is that Rush didn't stand on a soap box and wave their flag. I think Rush stated early-on that McCain't would not have been his pick. He is entitled to his opinion, and Rush is NOT a paid consultant or promoter for McCain't...so screw the campaign manager.

We need to watch this closely.

McCain is putting Rick (the colossal loser) Davis out to slice on Rush as part of the fairness doctrine fight.

We already know that Zero dined with:
Larry Kudlow
Bill Kristol
George Will
Charles Krauthammer
Peggy Noonan
Paul Gigot
David Brooks (mentioned in: http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcb_washington/20090114/pl_mcb_washington/washington200901obamaattendsconservativedinnerpartyhtml)
Rich Lowry (mentioned in: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_011409/content/01125106.guest.html)
Michael Barone (mentioned in: http://www.usnews.com/blogs/barone/2009/1/14/michael-barone-meets-barack-obama.html)

No one on that list has a political radio program. This team of DC-insiders wants to control the conservative movement and take it from its real leaders - Rush, Ann, Sean, Laura, and Mark - all of which have radio programs.

McCain is again fighting his own side on behalf of the Democrats. By striking at Rush, the argument can then be made to conservatives that Rush is “a problem.” When you think about it, talk radio presents McCain and the rest of his Commie friends the only real opposition they have.

Colin Powell is swiping Rush and Sarah Palin these days too. Make no mistake, this is an organized effort.

Rick Davis should get an award for bullsh*t artistry. And should never be allowed to work in GOP or Conservative politics again.

Perhaps he would be more comfortable formally running a campaign for the dems, rather than by stealth.

Must...not...post...anymore...today...

Palin was only on SNL once - Tina Fey was the idiot who did the impersonation every week - which was totally out of the campaign’s control.

And .. the repub moderates loved it because they didn’t like Palin anyway.

McCain lost because he is a loser. AZ will confirm that in 2010.

Wish that were true. However, Az has been infiltrated by leftists from the east-coast and west-coast and will vote for their fellow leftist. I will leave McCains' name blank when I vote in 2010 though..for what its' worth.

John McCain lost because 2 liberals were running for President. The voters chose the one who was upfront about it.

We didn't successfully reach out to them. I mean, but you look at the leadership John McCain gave which is counter to the direction that the party was headed, when you have the Rush Limbaughs of the world who, you know, literally almost feed the nativist attitude toward immigration reform, what do you think the Hispanic voter, the Latino voter is gonna remember? They're gonna remember the attacks, not the efforts by people like John McCain to try and reform.

McCainiac amnesty-lover attacks on Rush Limbaugh ping!
