The United Nations has been a complete and utter failure. If Obama weren’t about to be crowned, I would say we should just drop out.

Israel isn’t stupid enough to disclose a timetable. Timetables are for those who lose wars.

Most of the time they are just siding for “peace” because it is politically popular, not because it makes sense. It’s all about mob mentality and feeling thuper chic.

And what exactly is the UN going to do? Send UN troops who’ll rape Israeli women and children?

2:19 AM Israel breaks ceasefire as IAF hits rocket launcher about to launch from Northern Gaza. That didn’t last very long at all.

What is going on with this Blog ? Israel destroyed , yesterday, an Iranian trained , armed , funded force of 100 fanatic, elite- Hamas fighters.
Im not seeing it here, No preparation for the pictures going to come of the war. They will be tough, but , reasons for D-9 s tearing up the road so motorcycles can't drive up an explode. Things like that ? Have things changed around here?

...in the Gaza Strip it should include a timetable for the withdrawal of Israeli troops...

The UN can F.O. & Die

Good analysis. Point 1 is the best. I think this is why Sharon withdrew from Gaza in the first place. To put the rabid Islamist dogs in a morally indefensible position.

I must have missed it when U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon was calling for Hamas to stop shooting rockets at Israel

What a tool

Unfortunately, the U.N. has established itself as Israel’s enemy. Which is an odd position for an organization formed to promote peace among nations.

>>Reuters reporting that Israel is about to announce unilateral cease-fire??

Screw the UN and to hell with you Secy. Ban!!
<<

I’d like to think Israel knows what they are doing - that they timed this so they could get what they needed before the inauguration.

Now, they shouldn’t have to be concerned about the inauguration but I bet they are

UNLESS GILAD SHALIT IS RETURNED TO ISRAEL SAFELY THERE SHOULD BE NO TALK OF ANY CEASE FIRE.

AND as long as any Hamas member’s mouth is moving, there should be no talk of any cease fire.

Israel is gearing up to be losers AGAIN.

Maybe since this was Bush’s last week in office, Israel “decides” it’s time for a cease-fire. Wonder if they took action while they could, knowing with Obama coming in, support may be lacking after Jan. 20th.

Jay Sekulow has been showing on his tv show many good interviews over in Israel with the people, and also where the terror rockets have landed, done lots of damage, etc.

"the plight of the 1.5 million people penned in to the 45-km (28-mile) sliver of coast."

The ONLY reason for any "plight" for the residents of Gaza is b/c they have supported and aided terrorist scum like Hamas for so many years. If they had spent the past few decades displaying a work ethic and a devotion to improvement they could be like the Asian powerhouses of Hong Kong, Singapore, et al which also feature high population densities but accomplish great things for themselves economically.

By now Palistan could have been the Hong Kong or Singapore of the Middle East, the gateway from Europe to Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.... that is if they had chosen PEACE for themselves and their neighbors. No, instead they prefer terrorism, whining, and begging. Bad combination.

btw, while I happen to prefer the wide open spaces of the Rocky Mtn. West, I will note that Manhattan has nearly 1 million people (plus millions more who spend their workdays and nights there) "crammed" into a "sliver" of 1.5 miles by 12 miles, roughly.

There are few limits to what the people of Gaza could achieve for themselves and their region if they devoted themselves to economic and educational achievement rather than Jew-hating terrorism.

To Residents of Hamastan: No sympathy anymore here, a-holes!! You Pali-Nazis have had so many decades to show you are worth a damn and guess what, you're not.

Minutes after Israel declared the cessation of Operation Cast Lead, eight rockets were launched from Gaza towards the Israeli city of Beersheba. (Shmulik Hadad)

And, I'm sure that Hamas is gloating about how they forced Israel to stop fighting.

The only ceasefire that will work is total, unconditional surrender by Hamas and their total withdrawl from Gaza. If they don't like that, burn 'em.

The 348th (or so) "cease fire" to give terrorists time to rearm and keep their agenda going.

Could be the Israelis are running out of targets without going house to house...Might be a tactic to allow the terrorists to gain confidence and come back out into the open providing more targets...

...A lot of the pundits that hate the UN, and the Congress that thought for national security reasons trashed the Constitution, article 1, section 8, paragraph 11, went ahead with the UN resolution to invade Iraq. Last time I checked, Israel was a sovereign nation that will do whatever is needed to protect it’s citizens...

...Unfortunatly, America has given up it’s sovereinty for a new world order...
