There is no reason conservatism can not be popular, John Wayne and others of his generation made a lasting impression on the public from the Hollywood space. People respect tough “true grit” when it is not ashamed but what we have more often than not are weak conservatives who are just as quick to eviscerate themselves and their compatriots as to attack their political enemies as if self mutilation is easier than owning their own beliefs. Men should be proud to be men, women should be proud to be women and honor and dignity should be the mantle of all patriots. Weakness should not be held up as compassion, cowardice is not the pursuit of tranquility and peace is not a fair trade for loss of liberty.
We have a culture that lifts up the ridiculous and depraved and threatens those who dare call the ugly baby what it is, a damned child only fit for hell. The court jesters have taken over the high places and now only they are laughing. It is time they earned their keep and did some dancing for our amusement.
