How soon before those who criticize Obama are labelled “racists”, and “picking on him just because he’s black”?
The groupthink that exists out there right now is absolutely scary. How soon before the intimidation of those who buck the general consensus begins?

The “racist” angle will be only one of many avenues of silencing dissent.
And this won’t be a simple issue like some leftist feeling “picked on” because the president says “you’re with us or against us” and asking people not to openly protest the troops.
This will be legislation and thuggery (like union goons beating up protestors) to silence dissent.

“I already mute my radio whenever I hear his voice.”
I already do that. I can’t stand to hear a voice that rises an octave at the end of every sentence. It is so...pretentious.

“If an alien came here from space and watched 15 minutes of any media source, they would think Obama was loved and adored by every man, woman and child in the world.”
No, the alien would think that the people of the world are hopelessly insane and not worth interacting with, and that the only proper thing to do would be to wipre them out and then colonize the place.

Interesting that this whole article is about one thing: popularity. Nothing about character. Nothing about ideas. Nothing about the plans this bunch of scumbums has for this country.
That seems to be the way it is with a lot of libs. Remember the Clintonophiles? Everything about Clinton was about people liking him (especially women). So there was poll after poll when it came to policy decisions.
But give the 'Rats credit for political savvy. They know appealing to the emotions of an electorate whose majority is intellectually vapid and self-centered is what wins elections these days. Pretty sad commentary on how far this nation has fallen in such a short time.

Is there no escape from this guy??? This morning in my email I find A.Word.A.Day featuring words that have to do with Barry. Today's word was--cohere.
Tomorrow Barack Obama will become president of the US, and not a moment too soon. This week we'll feature words from Obama, words from his books, speeches, and interviews. Unlike most politicians, who hire ghostwriters, Obama writes his own books. He's a gifted writer. Reading his words you can see his thought process. He's not one who sees the globe in black and white. He has lived outside the US and has been exposed to other cultures. He realizes that just because someone has a different set of beliefs, just because someone looks different, doesn't mean he's wrong -- sometimes there can be two ways to do something and both can be right.
Obama is to be commended for his accomplishments. We've come a long way in this country. But we still have far to go before we can call ourselves truly unbiased. Real progress will be when any capable person can have a fair chance at winning the highest office, even someone who happens to be, say, a black gay vegan atheist woman.
Anything is possible... but don't hold your breath.

I took years for Houston to recover from the damage done by Lee Brown when he was mayor.
Brown did nothing to sustain the intrastructure of the city. The streets were nothing by pot-holes when he left office. He did nothing but travel all over the world for his pleasure. Of course, no one said much — because of the fact that he was black. No one wanted to be called racist.

I am sick of the media portraying this inauguration as if it was Jesus riding in triumph into Jerusalem.

Looking for ideas to protest the Obama?
I’m encouraging a custom of giving the finger, everytime his name is mentioned. Just as subtly as Obama did. Scratch your face with your butter finger. Wipe your lips with The Finger. Outline your brow line with your finger. Do it oh-so innocently, just like he did.
Do it with a pleasant smile on your face. How ‘bout it? Any takers?

Count me in as well. My Republican Women’s group has their monthly lunch meeting tomorrow. We normally do that on the 4th Tuesday of the month, but we decided that tomorrow the 3rd Tuesday would be a much better day. We’re all wearing black.

I did that in front of people watching TV at the Dr’s office. I extended my arm with the one fingered salute and didn’t care if any of them voted for b[end] 0[ver]. I will continue to show him the same respect they showed President Bush for the last four years.

Im wearing all black to work tommorow, out of mourning for this country. Me too, as well as flying Old Glory upside-down at half-mast, emptying a bunch of casings after work, followed by downing adult beverages in sufficient quantity to enable projectile vomiting upon a specific pictorial target, then passing out with the hope of awakening from a bad dream.

I call BS. How could Obama’s ratings be in the 70’s?
First, 50% of America did not vote for him.
Second, What has he done to garner this high rating? He is not the president, yet and he has not been instrumental in “effecting” or affecting any change to date.
