An 81-year-old British woman died after passers-by ignored her because they thought she was drunk.
Molly Morgan was attacked from behind Thursday night while walking to the library, sustaining head injuries, broken facial bones and a broken arm after being dragged to the ground and robbed, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
She died the next day in the hospital.
"When Mrs. Morgan was attacked she fell to the ground, and we believe she was on the pavement for about 10 minutes before anyone came to her aid," Detective Chief Inspector Jessica Wadsworth told the Daily Mail.
"While at hospital, Mrs Morgan told police that a man walked right past her and didn’t stop, even when she asked for help," Wadsworth said.
"It is our belief that this man, and other people in the area who didn’t assist the victim, may tragically not have realized that Mrs. Morgan had been attacked and was in considerable pain. We know from some witnesses that they had assumed she was merely a drunk on the street."

My mom turns 80 in 1 month. It hurts to think this could have been her, and that people would have just walked by.

Apparently, the Brits think it’s OK to leave an 80 year old drunk lady laying in the street on a winter day.
Look outside the window there’s a woman being grabbed
and he’s dragged her in the bushes and now she’s being stabbed
maybe we should call the cops and try to stop the pain

Odds are she wasn’t a high value target, just an easy one.

Sadly, in today's Britain, they could have just as likely been drunken white "yobs" who'd beat a pensioner to death for nothing more than looking at them wrong.

Actually we and almost everyone we know would have grabbed a gun and held the guy for the police. Unless of course he also had a gun, then we would have had to defend ourselves.
*sigh* One of the MANY reasons we moved back to the US. Sad. Just sad. Prayers for her daughter. I hope they find the yobbo who did it.
This mindset is a resentment of the elderly for draining the state due to socialized medicine. The elderly is not respected. In France, 14,000 elderly died in a heatwave and had to be buried in mass graves because their family did not claim their bodies.
Human life is cheap in socialist countries. I doubt many of those people ever heard of the Good Samaritan, or give a damn if they did.

No on aided her during the attack I assume?
It sounds like one guy was a jerk and ignored her, and then within ten minutes somebody came along and helper her out.
Passerby #1 was scum, and obviously the thugs who hurt her were worse, but I don't think it's an indictment of the whole bloody culture.
