Vice President Cheney will be in a wheelchair for tomorrow's inauguration ceremony, the White House said tonight, after he pulled a muscle in his back.
Cheney was moving into his new house in McLean from the Naval Observatory when he hurt his back moving boxes, White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said.
The vice president's doctor found no significant damage from the injury, Perino said. Nevertheless, he advised Cheney to spend the next couple of days in a wheelchair.

Take care of you back Mr. Vice President.
It has been an honor to serve under you.
You will be missed.
Won’t it be harder to impose martial law from a wheelchair?
You = your
Dear VP Cheney...I love you for being a man and trying to help, but you can’t fly fish from a wheelchair! You’ve got some fishin’ to do, Sir...now get well, and get out there!!! ;-)
Prayers for healing, Vice President Cheney!
He’s got 13 hours left. We’ll see.
LOL!
Not really, and it does work better for the hand-clasping chuckling scene.
Excellent.....

I am still disappointed his Army didn’t come and stop Obama afterall. Stupid liberals giving me hope like that.
Dick - be sure to file that injury report to ensure the worker’s comp claim goes through!
Maybe it’s a secret high tech wheelchair with lasers and stuff.

Why was he moving boxes? It's not like he's poor and can't afford to hire somebody to do it, especially with his heart condition.
He was moving boxes himself because he’s not a wussy Liberal.
He’s a great man. I expect he was carrying boxes alongside the movers.
I love Dick Cheney. I pray he recovers quickly.
Dear VP,
All that tension in your back should be gone soon. You’ve handled the load of the whole world on your shoulders for what must seem like an eternity and, we thank you for your sacrifices.
It’s time now, for a four yearlong Obamaspasm.
Get well soon.
Watch CNN play this to the hilt. They will probably even get a cameraman down on the carpet to film upward to emphisize the spokes on that wheelchair, like they use to do to George Wallace and would never have done to Franklin Roosevelt.
And, one more prediction for tomorrow.
When President Bush comes down those velveted steps and he is announced, there will be loud, quite audible booing and hissing from the crowd at the Capitol. Maybe not in the VIP section, but in the other parts, and CNN will dutifully pick it up with mikes and play it to the hilt, rounding off his eight years. It is a prediction.
Cheney loves a parade!
Get well soon, Mr. Vice President. I’m going to miss you.
