Maj just got the word, on Shep Smith show, scheduled to be announced tomorrow. All combat brigades to be out in 16 months.
Real effect is immediate surrender of purpose. No commander is going to undertake any major mission knowing that, at the very longest, no US offensive military power will be in-country after next Spring, so why waste lives to gain something we soon will give away.
Offensive operations will stop. Brigades will go into a useless, purely defensive mode. It's over. Our POTUS surrendered.
About 3000 Americans volunteered to pay the ultimate price in Iraq so we could be free. Obama just ensured those sacrifices will have no lasting meaning.
Bush prayed for every one of them and their souls. Obama just pissed on every one of their graves.

He doesn't understand or have any reverence for the military and what it takes to defend our freedom and our way of life.
His next act will be to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," and allow homosexuals to openly serve.

On top of all the other points made about this- any specific time table just tells the enemy they only need to hang on or lay low for that amount of time and then we won’t be there to stop them. I cannot imagine anyone thinking there can be a specific time table for a war or aftermath issues of war for that matter. Common sense should tell anyone that we need to make a very careful withdraw of forces, leaving enough in place to handle issues that might arise until some point in the future. To announce now a specific time is asinine- there is no way to know what will be happening during that time frame.
I am especially sick about Obama’s attitude and plans for the War on Terror- my son-in-law deploys in March and to think that the decision maker of the war is now Obama is a nightmare.
