I liked it as well. I like espionage movies that are gritty and realistic. Not some cheese puff crap. You know a movie is good when the good guys are dropping like flies. That is what makes “24” so good for the first few episodes.

The first time I saw Tombstone (saw it three times at the theater when it came out and since have seen it so often I have the script memorized; I don't even know why I bother watching, but I do) my first impression was of Kilmer's overacting and dramatizing (and he was a sh*tty horseman compared to Kurt, Ike, Sam Elliott, Texas Jack, and Creek J.). Everybody oozed over Kilmer, but the bigger players who stood out most for me (out of a fantastic cast ... I mean, Billy Bob Thornton was perfect!) were Powers Booth as Curly Bill ... and Michael Biehn as Johnny Ringo (now there's a deserving Oscar), and a complete display of Kurt Russel's power acting -- the guy is the Miles Davis of acting. Understated and eloquent. He says more with one expression that most actors can say in 30 seconds of dialogue.
In retrospect, I think that it was the chemistry of Kilmer with Russell, and it worked perfect. But for a real Doc Holliday, the best portrayal, I still *ducking* think Dennis Quaid put it down in the otherwise pretty lousy Costner "Wyatt Earp."
And for what it's worth, I don't think Val Kilmer would be my huckleberry in a political contest.

Kilmer was at Obama’s inauguration. Looks like another election we’re going to have to get involved in. Not no, but hell no. If he’s an Obamanite, he can forget about it.

I’ve also got to put in a good word for the guy who played Ike, I think his name is Stephen Lang. His Ike was so real and right, so believable, and he looks like a heck of a horseman to boot. Like a lot of great acting in Tombstone, the part was overshadowed (in a good way) by Kilmer.
But Christian Bale -- he was just hands-down the best. Perfect. The real Batman. The right guy. I hope I see him more in other things.

I agree. Michael Keaton was better in that it seemed as if he got the whole dark secretive side down.
The clooney ones seemed like they were tailored more for gays and lesbians than any sort of action adventure movie goers.
Well, this makes sense because as everyone knows, professionally pretending to be someone you’re not is excellent preparation for politics.
If you haven't seen the George Looney fiasco, please spare yourself the agony and don't even think about it. I made the mistake of going to the theater to watch it. It was so bad that I almost wanted to cry.

Watch him in ‘The Machinist’. You’ll actually see less of him there.

I stopped watching Fox too. I refuse to watch any of the network news offerings since they’re all in the bag for 0bama.
I stick to mostly the History and Discovery channels with an occaasional side track over to one of these retro channels to catch 12 O’Clock High, Rat Patrol, Combat!, Get Smart, McHale’s Navy, and other classic shows.
I watched TCM until they started the Black History Month baloney. I don’t watch much of anything, but I have History international on right now in the background. It’s a repeat of the show about the antichrist, full of the usual sly sneers at fundamentalist Christians.

I'm game for trying to watch almost anything once. If I don't like it after the first 10 or 15 minutes, I turn it off.
