Family members of people killed on September 11, 2001, and in other terror attacks say they are outraged by President Obama's draft order calling for the suspension of war crimes trials of prisoners being held at Guantanamo Bay.
"To me it's beyond comprehension that they would take the side of the terrorists," said Peter Gadiel, whose son, James, was killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11. "Many of these people have been released and been right back killing, right back at their terrorist work again."
Obama's request on the first full day of his presidency came as a draft order was being prepared ordering the closing of the Guantanamo prison within a year. A judge responded by halting the case against a Canadian detainee accused of killing an American soldier in Afghanistan, issuing a 120-day continuance in the case.

While I agree with the families this is an outrage, I can’t help but wonder ‘who’ they voted for. Did they thank Pres. Bush at the same time for locking up these terrorists?

I don't think Obama is evil per se, I think he is a totally confused Marxist. Guantanamo Bay was one of his BIG promises i.e., he would close it day one in his presidency....these killers are combatants, they are our enemy. Let your elected know NOW how you feel about the lack of protection for the nation Obama is showing...he really isn't 100% pro-America is he.

This should outrage everyone. In the days right after 9/11, we were a country that was determined never to let its guard down again. But now...It’s pathetic how quickly so many in our country have forgotten the events of 9/11. This whole course of direction is so sad for the country, especially the young children who will have to bear many burdens beset by this generation.

He is following through with what he promised during the campaign and people are surprised and outraged? What did they expect? This isn’t just his decision, it is also with the advice and consent of all his advisors and the Dems in congress and the senate. We are now governed by the most leftist government is our history with the approval and, in most cases, the support of the “Republican” Party.
I’m more upset at the stopping of the trial of the mastermind of 09/11. This is the guy who CREATED the plan to kill all those Americans. And what exactly is the point in stopping his trial? I thought a trial was supposed to be a good thing and what the lefties wanted.
