Even Leftwing Slate Media Critic Considers Chris Matthews as Empty 'Motormouth'
NewsBusters ^ | January 22, 2009 | P.J. Gladnick

It is one thing for "evil conservatives" to criticize Chris Matthews. However when leftwing Slate media critic Jack Shafer claims that "the MSNBC motormouth talks a lot, says nothing," which is the subtitle of his Slate article about Matthews, it makes one sit up and take notice. Should you doubt Shafer's far left bonafides, he actually claims in the same article that Keith Olbermann is sane and makes it seem like he is the voice of reason over at MSNBC. Shafer rips into Matthews and his inaugural coverage right from the get-go:

Nobody in TV news stir-fries his ideas and serves them to the audience faster than MSNBC's Chris Matthews. Drawing from a larder filled with old anecdotes, unreliable metaphors, wacky intuition, and superficial observations, the always-animated Matthews steers whatever's handy into the hot wok that is his brain. The sizzling free-associations skitter through his limbic system, leap out his mouth, and look for a resting spot in the national conversation, where they steam like fresh lava in untouchable heaps.

That first paragraph describing Chris Matthews is dead on! But Jack Shafer is still a leftwing loon.

Cool. Too bad he has a blind spot where Olbermann is concerned.

Maybe they a “close” friends or something.

The Pentagon has confirmed today that Osama bin Laden, Mullah Omar and al Zawahri have been captured and are being held at an undisclosed location.

NOAA scientist have issued a press release today claiming they have found a simple low cost solution to global warming (rumored to have been assisted by algore).

Greek officials report that Natalie Holloway has been found living on a local oil magnate’s yacht.

A UFO has crashed near Ft Wayne Utah, the alien occupants are alive and being cared for by Air Force personnel.

We’ll have these and other stories, but first, our top story; New evidence has come to light that strongly suggests that Bush did in fact lie about WMD’s!

I’m Chris Matthews, let’s play Hardball

It explains in detail what Mathews discovered when he ‘explored’ running for the Senate.

He’s not as popular as he thought he was...(chuckle)

You’d think MSNBC scheduling his nightly double droolfests away from competing with BOR would have told him this long ago.

Is this nothing more than Olberwomann and Madcow venting against their competition for the lowest common commentator?

Sounds more like he's describing Matthews' flying spittle...

“Sounds more like he’s describing Matthews’ flying spittle.”

I blocked out MSNBC on my TV so I never see hissie, but by teh second hand reporting, it’s clear he’s insane.

Drudge reports cable ratings and he is always at the bottom.
