(CNN) Despite the post-election battle between Sarah Palin and John McCain's campaign advisors, the former Republican presidential candidate told CNNs Larry King both members of the GOP ticket remain very close.
McCain who has been edging his way back into the spotlight Palin never quite left dismissed questions over his running mates criticism of his campaign team. Listen, I think the world of Governor Palin, her husband Todd, her family, I'm honored that she would run with me, he said in an interview set to air Thursday at 9 pm ET.
And look, whenever there is a losing campaign there is always a little bit of back and forth, and it happens post-mortem. I am so grateful to have her as a friend, and I believe that she represents a lot to the Republican Party in the future. I think she has a big role to play.
Palin and senior McCain aides, many of them anonymous, have traded criticism since the Republican tickets defeat.
. . . . .
The Arizona senator would not tell King Thursday whether he was personally stung by Palins criticism of his top aides. Look, we're very close friends, and I talk to her all the time and look forward to seeing her, I think, in a week or so, he said. We're very close.

Hmmm.
Will a flak jacket stop a knife to the back. She might want to wear one.
God, PLEASE! What does it take to get this man out of our hair? He just doesn’t get it. Without Palin he would be the biggest loser in presidential history.
Sarah Palin = Total Class, John McCain = Total @ss.
Keep your friends close and John McCain closer.
Careful Sarah, don’t turn your back to him, you’ve already been stabbed in the back once by this buffoon. Who thinks McCain is nervous because of the backlash he has gotten by not supporting Sarah so now he wants to make peace so that he can use her to win re-election in 2010
Don’t so it Sarah! He will stab you in the back! You have nothing to gain from him!!!
I saw McCain silly daughter on Fox & Friends.
She couldn’t bring herself to say anything nice about Palin, even when pressed.
McCain needs to go away.
McCain is a pompous little phony lacking in any real intelligence and suffering from a craving for attention. I really hope someone in his home state has the resources and the will to take him on.

McCain knows he’ll need Palin and her immense popularity for his own political future in Arizona. I think he’s realizing that she’s the emerging leader of the conservative movement.
run sarah run.
Of course CNN writes this as if Palin started an offensive against McCain.
THAT IS AMAZING GRAFFITI.
And while I tend to not like law breakers of any kind, we need that EXACTLY THAT kind of guerilla conservatism going on.
anyone know if she was invited to the inaugeration.
He needs her to help him in his bid for re-election. He has probably gotten huge backlash from Republicans who are pissed off by the way he treated her. You all see his idiot for a daughter Meghan McCain, she couldn’t even bring herself to say one nice thing about Sarah. Screw McCain, I hope she slams the door in his damn face
