Obama's policies will ensure economic disaster, foreign policy weakness and a general distaste for his arrogance. In 2012 the American people will be ready to throw him and Congress out. The GOP can emerge stronger with new leadership as a result.
I think McCain was the Manchurian Candidate—only in this case, he was working for the Democrats.
On a related note, the GOP has to address immediately the problem with states allowing independents and registered Dummies to crossover into our primaries. That is the biggest reason we got stuck with McCain in the first place.
One more thing, it's funny that Capt. Finance Reform doesn't seem to have a problem with foreign governments and nationals donating large sums of money to the Husband of our new SOS. I guess Mac only cares how much money US citizens donate to political action committees and their candidates.
I have been watching old tapes of the campaign of last fall, (instead of watching this week’s circus) and have come to the same conclusion as Geraghty. McCain would have truly been worse for the country, because the “loyal opposition” would have been Pelosi/Reid/Bigmedia. Republicans would have had to get along with a president who would have been much worse than any accusation ever made of GWB’s ‘bipartisan’ actions. McCain would have done everything that Obama wants to do, in the spirit of being a maverick Republican, aka democrat!
Now at least the remaining Republicans can try to halt the devastation of our country.
“His daughter inadvertently confirmed it on Fox and Friends this week”
Details please or a link....I missed this but am not surprised...thanks
Kept saying even if McCain wins the democrats still win. Guess it is better to have enemy you expect rather than the friend that you know will stab you.
One gets that impression.
I often wonder if he picked Sarah thinking that she'd be a "who?" candidate, but got a "WOW!" response from the masses that he didn't expect.
I think you may be on to something. It was the worst run campaign I have ever been around and that is saying something. Too many strange things were said by McCain that made me cringe including how he handled the first two debates with gloves on — made no sense.
Believe he did want to stick it to conservatives for 2000 and deep down that was more important then winning. Having us working for him after been Bush people must have made his day.
Wouldn’t vote or support the man for dog catcher today and hope someone in AZ opposes him for Senate so he can just go away although if he loses expect him to end up in ZERO’s cabinet or administration as a senior advisor. Maybe he can take Graham with him.
I saw Meghan on Fox this week and she said she was done talking about Palin. She would not say anything when pressed.
That about sums it up. Like father like daughter.
Fox had her on because she interview her mom Cindy but still didn’t tell us much.
Oops, I pasted the wrong quote and didn’t catch it. Sorry about that.
McCain is a “maverick” because he is NOT a leader.
When McCain’s staff attacked Palin, did McCain ever repudiate them? I’ve searched in vain for any follow-up on that story.
When the Palin bashing first started, I was convinced that it was Romney. Which, pi$$ed me off, as I was a Romney guy. But, you are correct. It is more than clear that McCain's minions (and perhaps even McCain himself) were responsible for all of the leaks and snide comments. If anyone ever chooses to have McCain's campaign chief run another race, they need to have their head examined.
When he announced, "the fundamentals of the U.S. economy are strong", that was a coded message that he didn't want the job. He couldn't possibly be that out of touch -- that was the week that another giant financial firm went bankrupt every day -- but he was pretending to be.
I’ll see if I can find it, it was Megan McCain on Fox and Friends.
When asked about the attacks on Sarah Palin, Megan McCain went ‘ice cold’ and refused to comment. It was a very awkward moment, Gretchen Carlson tried to nudge her into answering, but she just refused.
Good enough for me, thanks.
Best comment of the thread.
Although introducing Gov. Palin to the 'national scene' made her the darling of conservatives--
the political damage that was inflicted upon her will leave serious and lasting damage in her ability to attract independents and moderates.
Your welcome.
I know exactly how you feel. I had promised myself to never again vote for the Lapdog Lindsey Graham and I kept that promise. However, I did something much worse and voted for his master for POTUS!
