Source: Gov. Paterson was underwhelmed with Caroline Kennedy from the start

She lost him at "hello."

Gov. Paterson was completely underwhelmed with Caroline Kennedy from their first conversation about Hillary Clinton's Senate seat, a source close to the governor said.

Paterson's thinking has become clearer in the two days since Kennedy withdrew her name for the Senate seat that Friday went to upstate Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-Hudson).

Friends said Paterson was adamant that she was never going to be appointed, even though she was considered the front-runner.

Paterson was turned off when Kennedy first called him and asked if she "could" be considered for the seat.

By asking if she could, rather than saying she wanted to be considered, Paterson immediately felt she wasn't really interested, the source said.

In meetings, the governor and his aides decided she had no political depth, the source said.

She had no firmly held views and little idea about why she wanted the job, the source said.

Her abysmal public rollout cemented the governor's fears that she had no political instincts.

The governor felt the sheltered Kennedy had no communication skills and absolutely no empathy with the voters, the source said.

He was amazed that she went upstate for a day to meet with political leaders but didn't walk around to chat up regular people.

"She just lived in a bubble," the source said.

Caroline Kennedy with husband Edwin Schloissberg, and daughter Tatiana

The liberal media chewing up a Kennedy? The Rat Party dumping on a Kennedy? Rat biggies like Hitlery, Bubba, Barry, Nancy and Harry totally silent while all this takes place?

I never thought I would ever see any of this in my lifetime.

“”She just lived in a bubble,” the source said.”

Liberal politicians who live in a bubble? I don’t believe that for one second.

She was also apparently hit by an ugly stick at some point, based on the witch-like protuberances on her nose and face that show up on some photos!

I agree, she lives in a bubble. She was not qualified. I am not a fan of her and her family.

That being said, the Patterson camp has no class.

Tough decision for the news whores. Blind black man, versus a Kennedy, any Kennedy. Heads probably exploded.

Don’t worry, she’ll get Admiral Oldsmobile’s seat when he goes.

Is it possible that this is the Clinton attack machine at work? Caroline Kennedy put the skids to Hillary when she came out for O.

This is a purely cover story for what took place. There were too many reports saying she was the chosen one. i simply don’t buy that she wasn’t the front-runner.

Typical BS PR job, IMO.

Well, I don't know. Maybe she really should have been more forceful, more New York like.

"Hello Dave? This is Caroline. Listen twerp, you appoint me to that Senators seat or I'll rip your (censored censored) off! You get me pal?"

NY Post: Gov says Caroline turned 'Nasty'

Kennedy's six-week political career was marked by a string of miscues as she faired poorly in interviews and was hit by criticism and questions about whether she was up to the job.

As for Paterson on Thursday, a source close to him said Kennedy was never in true contention because of issues over taxes, a nanny and questions about her marriage.

WS Journal: Came and Wentalot

Caroline Kennedy's decision to drop out of consideration for Hillary Clinton's vacated U.S. Senate seat was clearly not for the "personal reasons" she cited in a statement released earlier this week.

Kennedy loyalists insisted that Caroline was giving up her political dreams even though she had been tapped by Governor David Paterson. "He was offering her the seat," one family confidant told ABC News. "There's no doubt about that."

That is pure Kennedy spin. My own sources tell me she decided to seek a graceful exit after realizing she was unlikely to be picked. Governor Paterson came away from interviews with her unimpressed by her communication skills and uncertain if the financial contributions that her supporters promised would come his way for his own 2010 race were anything more than an illusion.

US News: Why Caroline Kennedy's Senate Bid Flamed Out

Angriest [Rat] of all was state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, the ex-governor's son who up until then was leading the pack. His relations with the Kennedy clan were already strained after his bitter divorce from Kennedy's cousin.

"It's awkward," said a Democrat with ties to Paterson. "If she's serious, there could be a serious behind-the-scenes war, with lots of personal baggage behind it."

Fox News: Inside the Caroline Kennedy Mystery

BILL O'REILLY, HOST: Our lead story tonight is the mystery surrounding Caroline Kennedy dropping out of Senate contention.

"The Factor" has learned that New York Governor David Patterson was told by unidentified sources that Caroline Kennedy was having an affair with New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger. Upon hearing that information, Governor Patterson got a bit nervous, as you would imagine, because both Mrs. Kennedy and Mr. Sulzberger are married, although Sulzberger is apparently separated from his wife. And around midnight last night, Caroline Kennedy pulled out of the race for "personal reasons."

Now, a spokesperson for The New York Times says Sulzberger does not, I repeat, does not have a relationship with Mrs. Kennedy. But this is one huge mess.

The Australian: Caroline Kennedy move sparks rumors

Caroline Kennedy's mysterious and abrupt decision to abandon her ambitions for a US Senate bid gave rise to an ugly swirl of rumours yesterday, with accusations she was mired in issues over taxes, her nanny and possibly her marriage.

And many, many more.

Enjoy.

The Kennedys have always been low-life grifters who, because of their ill-gotten wealth and an adoring media and the fortuitous murder of JFK (I say fortuitous because if he had not been killed he would have finished his presidency as the medocrity he was, and his memory would never have been so idolozed and his reprobate kinfolk would not have been able to bask in the halo of his fabricated sainthood) have been elevated way beyond their due.

She’s the person Obama chose to select his Vice President for him.

Even the mostly blind governor of NY can see what a lightweight she is. But Obama was like, “Gimme my iPod, my Barackberry, and my waffles, man. Let me know what she says.”

Schloissberg or Sulzberger, I’m sure Carolyn just got a bit confused which one it was she was supposed to have relations with, you know.

Yeah and in the next couple of BYS elections, it will be fun to see if Cuomo and possibly a “rehabilitated” Spitz jump ino the primaries and get out the long knives.
