More than anything else he simply waited till everyone else ran out of money. I voted for Hunter who hung in there till near the end by being conservative with what little money he had.

He did not have to do much, as he was guaranteed the nomination sometime between 2001 and 2004, IMHO. Perhaps it was to bribe him to not switch parties before jumpin' jim or join jon Effin sKerry's ticket or to pretend to support the President on the war. JMHO of course. ;*)
