It was beyond repulsion (BDS Observations)
Troy Record ^ | 1/24/2009 | Ed Weaver

Folks, there aren’t enough words to express the abhorrence of the Bush Haters for their hate-filled treatment of President George W. Bush at Obama’s inauguration.

Signs reading Impeach Bush (for what); Prosecute Bush (for what?); Jail Bush and Cheney, etc., were everywhere.

People actually gave Bush the finger — while he was still President of the United States — before Obama was sworn in. They booed. They jeered. They mocked.

They sang the 1969 rock hit “Na Na, Hey Hey, Kiss Him Goodbye” (by the group Steam) as his helicopter carried him from the Capitol grounds for the final time.

They rejoiced that Vice President Dick Cheney, having wrenched his back, had to show up in a wheelchair. These are the caring, compassionate Democrats we hear about so often.

No such conduct — nothing close — had ever been seen at any inauguration.

How about the president who left office in 2001? He was a real criminal! He lied to a federal grand jury, a felony that would land every one of us in prison.

Any similar signs in the crowd the day he left office?

It was beyond repulsion.

Just as revolting was the way MSNBC chief hater Keith Olbermann and other leftist talking heads not only defended their conduct but actually applauded them. These are the same people who claim that all the hate in this country comes from the right.

I don’t know of any politician I have less respect for than Bill Clinton, a man of little character and the most self-absorbed human being I’ve ever known of. The fact that my youngest daughter had to grow up (age 6-14) under his scandal-laden presidency still saddens me. She’s 22 now.

He soiled the Oval Office with … well, you know; my editors won’t permit me to say. But I would never, ever even consider throwing an obscene gesture at him, booing him in public, carrying a sign with his name and obscenities.

So many on the left did so to Bush and were generally applauded for doing so.

Class act: As classless as the Democrats were to Bush, he and former First Lady Laura Bush were nothing but cordial, warm and sincere in greeting the new president and first lady.

Media members either ignored that fact or expressed shock by it. Amazing!

And now, Democrats are talking about filing war crimes charges against both Bush and Cheney, simply because they fought terrorists while not being Democrats.

What does that mean? Simple.

If Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, Barack Obama or any other Democrat engaged in such a noble undertaking, everything else being the same, that person would have won at least two Noble Peace Prizes for liberating more than 48 million Arabs and for keeping this country from being hit again. He would be hailed as among the greatest of our presidents. And you all know that’s true.

Those terrorists want to kill Americans and they don’t care if you’re black, white, Asian, liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican, Troy High fan or La Salle fan. They want as many of us dead as possible and under George W. Bush’s leadership these terrorists were severely weakened.

Give it a read: Dick Morris had a great column earlier this week on TheHill.com Web site. He laments that national socialized healthcare must be stopped. And one key comment was … “Simply put, we enter (Obama’s) administration as free enterprise, market-dominated, laissez-faire America. We will shortly become like Germany, France, the United Kingdom — a socialist democracy in which the government dominates the economy, determines private sector priorities and offers a vastly expanded range of services to many more people at much higher taxes.”

This is a must read for everyone, left and right!

He won’t succeed: Much has been said about Rush Limbaugh and just average, non-consequential little conservatives such as I who don’t want Obama to succeed — or don’t want his policies to succeed.

Two members of this newsroom don’t understand that we on the right want this country to succeed, remain the world’s greatest, and it won’t under Obama’s expanded government: the absorption of as much of the private sector by the U.S. government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to healthcare. We do not want the government in charge of all of these things because the private sector beats the government at anything. Look around you!

If Obama agrees to give taxpayers a tax holiday for a to-be-determined period, freeze capital gains taxes for six months and lower U.S. corporate taxes — the second highest in the free world — I’ll be a cheerleader for him.

Get the difference?

Let me tell you this, too. If I’d asked those above-mentioned newsroom associates on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, “Don’t you want President Bush to succeed in his second term,” they would have thrown whatever was within their reach at me — as well as some obscenities.

They can expect the same treatment over the next four years.

I'm really, really good at being an a-hole and pissing people off.

I look forward to the next 4 years of ruining every event I'm at with Obammie’s Commies.

Payback’s a bitch.

Get over it. Bush is past tense.

We have other big problems with which to deal. Bush left our country in a gigantic mess. Bush getting the finger is so yesterday and unimportant today and in the future.

It’s all because they think Bush stole the election. He didn’t and some of the more brain alive know it; especially the ones telling them this.

Believe when the go around comes around; it’s going to be hell to pay for those liars.

before leaving d.c. after resigning, pres. nixon went for a drive. his driver took him to the lincoln monument where the pres. stepped out of the vehichle to have a lackluster meet and greet with some youthful tourist types. back in the car, as they were pulling away, one of the tourists flipped the president the bird. nixon returned the gesture. turning to the driver he predicted “ for the rest of his life, that guy will tell people that the president of the united states gave him the finger and no one will ever believe him”. true story. kinda wonder what those idiot obamabots would have done if bush had returned their gestures. thank god he is way classier than they ever will be.

Very refreshing outrage at the treatment of Pres. Bush.

To me it's the media (I know, big surprise) that is the alpha and omega of both the outpouring of support and high approval ratings of Clinton and the lack of support and outright hatred of Pres. Bush.

And of course, the Obamamania love-fest we're experiencing now.

Regarding the behaviour of the Inaugural crowd.....

Pathetic excuses for Americans trying to be part of Obama’s homeboy gang. That’s what gangs do...attack the leader of the rival gang.

I didn’t watch the proceedings....but I swear I heard Bill O’Reilly say that attendees were respectful. Sounds like Bill O was lying, uninformed, or just trying to be PC....again.

Does sufficient video evidence exist?

I will hammer “Big Ears” every chance I get, to whoever will listen to me. I will miss no chance to degrade and make extreme fun of this Chicago thug. After they took every opportunity to knock Bush I will do so to Osama.

And when he FAILS to protect this country from the Muslims and we are attacked again I will be among the loudest calling for his impeachment.

Thank you for posting this article, Mark. I saw the President of the United States of America leaving office looking decades older than when he came. I don't know if he took notice of the people mocking and jeering him, but I did and I wept for our nation.

I was born in an America with some regard for the nobility of Everyman. We appear to have become a pack of wolves, without humility or respect, without Fear of God, and without wisdom.

America is great, said de Tocqueville, because Americans are good, and when we cease to be good we will cease to be great. These are representative of a people without regard for being great.

Contrast that with the warm and happy welcome Bush received in Texas that same day! I would LOVE to have been there!

I am not shocked at all at the treatment Bush received. Just observe the type of people that voted for Obama — all consumed with hatred like their messiah is for this country.

Just wait when the first suicide bomber blows him/herself up in a busy mall and martial law becomes the law of the land. That’s the time when some of them will come to their senses.
