Violent felons killing each other? Why’d they stop it?

From what I am hear on the news sounds like the guards shot 9 of them or so.

gang bangers killing each other is Karma but they usually want hostages for power and negotiations, most prison rioting these days is between black and hispanic gangs trying to control vice activities. shootings only occur in the yard to control the fighting groups or keep inmates from killing others and staff.
