“..psychotic, socialist, liberal democrats do not like oil.”

I think they like oil just fine, viz Algore with his private jet, humongous house, etc. But, the Dims like control more than they like anything and restricting America’s access to oil creates a control issue and THEY have the helm at present. We need to change this situation if we are to access the available reserves of gas and oil.

It all comes back to economics. IMO, our free-market realities include rigged, government-fuggled economic policies elsewhere.

I think we should stop trying to effect external factors and let oil find its price. No butt kissing of Saudis or threatening of Russians or whatever. IMO, those actions just postpone the inevitable and distort domestic markets. Individuals make false assumptions when planning which vehicle or house to buy and companies do the same with planning which products to market.

And all the attempts to moderate oil prices have failed. Individuals now don’t know what to do and CEOs don’t know what to do. Going back decades, we should have let oil go where it would and adjusted to the price.

As soon as the economy recovers, oil prices will spike. We have cut back on domestic drilling and foreign producers are also cutting back on production.

On the bright side Barry’s stimulus program ensures that we will not face that problem for the forseeable future.

The Obama/Reid/Pelosi troika will not allow any further oil drilling in the continental US or Alaska and will instead pour billions into boondoggle biofuels. The first US refinery in almost 30 years is being developed in Elk Point,SD, but with a tree hugger in the White House, that project will probably get stopped for environmental reasons.

I believe this is what guardamerica is referencing.

Interesting stuff if true.

One small issue that needs to be overcome...

"What about stability? We tested one of our devices and found that it was stable (to 92 percent of initial performance) for three months. This isn't good enough yet for products but we are confident that the technology developed for organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) in televisions will be portable to this application."

I suspect we're still years away from this being practical, but I hope I'm wrong...

I’m beginning to believe that we shouldn’t exploit our oil reserves. Why should the clowns in Versailles have even more money to spend?

People who pay no income taxes will get rebates. What if nobody paid taxes? Harry Reid says our tax system is voluntary. The new Treasury Secretary says he forgot to pay his taxes. Charlie Rangel doesn’t understand Spanis; so he didn’t know he owed taxes. That’s good enough for me.

“Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn’t have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn’t come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN’T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.”
