President Barack Obama advised Republican leaders Friday that they shouldnt be listening to Rush Limbaugh if they plan on getting along with him.
"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told the GOP leaders, according to a report in the New York Post, in the midst of discussions on his planned $1 trillion stimulus package.
A White House official later told the Post that Obama was only trying to make a larger point about bipartisan relationships. He also was making it clear that his party controls both the House and the Senate and has the votes to push through his favored versions of legislation.

Obama, stop listening to Moqtada al-Sadr.
Well, they can shake their heads in polite agreement, while continuing to listen to Limbaugh, all the while... LOL...
hen did the GOP ever listen to Limbaugh??
Dear Barry Zer-O:
F you, you F’n F
It's role of conservatives to stop things getting done.
and the horse you rode in on Mr. President.
Rush daily is pointing out every hypocrisy and socialism involving Obama.
Republicans right now are gutless and mostly suck. So Obama is bullying them now before people with guts get elected to office.
This also could be a move to prepare the way for the unfairness doctrine.
Obama just guaranteed massive ratings for Rush.
Now we HAVE to listen to Rush, just to show our dissent.
I wish I wasn't a regular listener, just so I could start listening regularly!!
runs with scissors
of the Rush Tribe. :)
“Republicans right now are gutless and mostly suck. “
Wrong. Right now the Republicans in DC are in the minority and mostly are doing and saying the right things. Boehner has attacked the boondoggle stimulus fraud. Cornyn has slowed down the nomination votes. Check out Sen Jim DeMint or Sen Coburn. Do they ‘suck’? Nope, they are awesome.
Here comes the Fairness Doctrine...
OK .. so it was actually a shot at the Godfather, but we're all in the crosshairs. And no, I'm not at all outraged by this. It's great! Who knows how many new listeners are listening to talk radio today trying to see just what it is that PrezBo is so upset about.
On Friday, Barack Obama had some sound advice for Congressional Republicans ... stop listening to talk radio.
Well to be more specific, stop listening to Rush Limbaugh. Obama said, "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." A White House official says that Obama meant that "there are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats ... We shouldn't let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done." Translation: We have the Republicans right where we want them. They're kowtowing to Barack Obama and giving up pretty much everything we want without much of a fight. We don't need them listening to anyone that could possibly cause them to see the light."
Yes, but when one party wants to spend billions of dollars on their party platform in the name of "economic stimulus" .. somebody has to talk about it. And when one party wants the government to be in charge of your healthcare, someone has to say something. And when one party supports the unionization by intimidation, someone has to say something.
Are you getting my point, folks? The reason why Barack Obama doesn't want people listening to talk radio is because it is a major speed bump in the way of his massive government spending and national socialist schemes. Talk radio is really the only form of media that is willing to challenge Barack Obama .. somehow we just don't seem to get tingles up its leg every time he speaks. Talk radio is willing to ask the tough questions. And now, more than ever, is the time for tough questions.
I haven’t listened to Rush in a while, but I’ll be dang sure to start back up now.

Let’s use some positive encouragement of those starting to stand up to the Obama administratrion, rather than ignoring these positive steps.
Well said.
Thanks to the president's comments, I think I'll sign up for Rush 24/7, because I'm at work and can't listen to him!
Factually I only think Rush is pointing out 20% of the hypocrisy that comes from the Obama Administration.
Let's just start with 0% about the "Birth Certificate" hypocrisy that B. H. Obama HAS NOT been pointed out by Rush; or Sean or actually almost ANYBODY.
Simply put - it is not going away until resolved!
I’d trade a full day’s listening to any liberal station or tv news for 1 hour of Rush during the work-week.
I like what Boehner was trying to do but I thought he sounded thus far like typical boring opposition rather than a visionary alternative goal minded leader.
