ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Pakistan urged President Barack Obama to halt U.S. missile strikes on Al Qaeda strongholds near the Afghan border, saying Saturday that civilians were killed the previous day in the first attacks since Obama's inauguration.
Pakistani security officials said eight suspected foreign militants, including an Egyptian Al Qaeda operative, were among 22 people killed in Friday's twin strikes in the Waziristan region.
But the Foreign Ministry said the attacks by unmanned aircraft also killed an unspecified number of civilians and it had informed U.S. officials of its "great concern."

Guess they don’t want to be caught saying we’ve won in Iraq.
What are civilians doin’ hangin’ so close to the terrorists that they’re hit by the same missile? Aiding and abetting? But I admit, I don’t like true civilians getting killed.
They all look like civilians when they are dead.
Its impossible to fight civilian terrorists who live among civilians and hide among civilians and launch their attacks from among civilians and aim their attacks at civilians and who are themselves civilians, without killing civilians.
Either you accept that civilian casualties are among the tragic consequences of such a war, you accept that you probably aren’t going to be able to kill the bad guys without also killing his family, or you give up and go home.
He condemned himself to death the day he decided to make war on you. His family pays the consequence right along with him if they don’t have the wit to keep a safe distance from him.
War is hell.
I am being sarcastic.
For 7 years I listened to the DNC State run Media claimEVERY one shot, killed, questioned or harassed was a civilian trying to take their child to the doctor.
Interesting that the messiah has killed 22 in his first few days in office, without a peep from the DNC or the media.

I'm with you.
Since the Taliban and the Al-Queda militants don’t exactly dress in a uniform that is readily identifiable, they can mingle with civilians at will.
That is a trademark of their behavior.
If the civilians continue supporting them, and not rising up against them, they are also part of the problem, not part of the solution.
This will continue to be a problem for a very long time, IMO.
